‘thank you america! and damn you, you bastards!’

‘thank you america! and damn you, you bastards!’

so many people like to sound off about how the iraqis were not appreciative to what we did to liberate them. liberal pundits like to focus on the vocal few who throw shoes at liberators and mug for western journalists’ cameras with their opposition-provided signs. but here are excerpts of an editorial, recently published in a baghdad paper, by Jabr Al Jabouri, an iraqi journalist.

America chose to save us from the most evil party, and the most despicable President in the universe [Saddam]. Meanwhile, the Arab powers stood firmly against the American project. They used all means to thwart them, but Allah’s will had another say in this matter. America turned the Ba’athists into the world’s laughing stock by showing them fleeing in their underwear on live television. Meanwhile, the Arab powers turned those cowards into national heroes on their satellite channels.

America gave the lives of 4,000 of its people to Iraq’s land to instill security and democracy, while the Arabs sent us their filthy mercenaries who mercilessly murdered, bombed, and slaughtered the Iraqi people.
(…)

After six years of liberation, we now know who our friend is and who our foe is. We should not give a chance to those idiots who claim that Iraq is part of the Arab Nation. These idiots should understand that Iraq is part the federal, free and democratic world.

go read the whole thing, it’s just that great. and, in the ‘glorious’ age of obama, don’t be so quick to move past iraq — it’s part of an important legacy for both our countries and binds us together – through blood, treasure, and liberty – forever.

Missed your writing Kate! This is a terrific post. I think I am going to dub you the “liberty czarina!” Hey and I’m glad to see there are journalists in Iraq who speak the truth about what’s happened there.

  • Ken says:

There are many Iraqis who feel this way, but they do not get a fraction of the media attention that those who hate America do.

This was a very impressive editorial and a very brave thing to do. There was a time, not too long ago, when writing something like this would have gotten your head cut off and your family murdered.

Nicely done, Mr. Jabr Al Jabouri.

  • PenniePan says:

Oh geez. Please stop. Please. I can’t take anymore flag-waving Iraq posts and yapping lovestruck commenters. Thankfully, we are getting the hell out of that cesspool. Thank You Barack Obama!!

And Kate let’s just name you the Liberty Czar! HA.

  • Ken says:

Spoken like a true Obamazombie Pennie!!

How lucky he is to have someone like you, who is absolutely oblivious to the real world, in his corner. Your ignorance and your complete lack of realistic vision is a true asset to Obama and what he is doing to this country.

    Be proud.

    “Thank You Barack Obama!!”

    I rest my case.

It’s so sad that you cannot take pleasure in someone talking about their new found freedom, which people like you take for granted every day, and thanking the U.S. who made it possible.

  • micky says:

Obviously, and to no surprise Pennie doesnt get it. But for the sake of doing more than just pointing out her simplistic visions I’ll put it like this.

Aside from the stupid worn out cries, “Blood for oil” which is by now known to be bullsh*t by even the least informed lib, and “Corporate imperialistic money mongers” (AKA Halliburton) we actually didnt “ONLY” go after “hearts and minds” in Iraq. Bush and those who can think on more than one level at a time are able to see the many applications and advantages to us being there.

After 911 and the invasion of Afghanistan it was plain to see that we needed to set up a model of what a fledgling democracy would and could look like in the middle east for neighboring states to see. Afghanistan doesnt offer the products to build on needed to create this example as readily as Iraq did.

After 911 we needed to establish a foothold, a prescence, a ready force able to quickly tamp down any potential threats created by groups such as Al Queda. Basically said, we needed to plop our a$$es right in the middle of that cauldron of hate for America called “The Middle east” so we could keep an eye on these schmucks.

Anyone with any common sense realizes that were not going anywhere. Theres a little trade off going on between the lines that is understood even by Obama. In exchange for their liberation, soilidarity, and massive improvements to their civil and commercial infrastructureand the constant support they will always get from us in exchange we will be allowed to have bases and troops there for the foreseeable future. If you’re confused Pennie, think Japan, S. Korea and Germany.

    Its working.
Irans younger population thats free of the brainwashing the older generations are victim to are looking at whats going on and saying to the world
(mostly us) that they want what they saw happen in Iraq and even in some smaller sections of Afghanistan.
Then of course theres the no brainers like not having to worry anymore about Saddam attacking any neighboring states again, slaughtering millions of his own, trying to kill American presidents, sending suicide bombers to Israel to kill US citizens.

Thank you troops and guys like Ken. You’ve done a wonderful thing with many wonderful multiple applications that not only will keep millions in the midle east safe but me na d my kids along with our country also.

Lets see if can come with a title for what kind of Czar Pennie would be.
I’ll leave my suggestion out so that her enviro friendly undergarments dont get in a bunch

  • Paul says:

Iraq was fundamentally a huge mistake and the very reason GWB was a failed president. It is only because the surge pulled Iraq out of the toilet, that it’s in as good a shape as it’s in which really isn’t saying much since it’s barely hanging on.

Welcome back Kate from where ever you were.

  • micky says:

Oh bla bla bla Bush was a failure bla bla . Heard it all before, whats new ?
So, Bush is a huge failure but the surge wasnt ?
Right Paul, thats why he got re-elected in the middle of the Iraq war, because he was such a failure ?

    “Barely hanging on” ?
As opposed too what it was hanging on to 10 years ago ?
I’ve researched it, Kens been there, its succeeding.
Please, for every negative you come up with in Iraq I’ll show you a hundred positives, try me.
Our country took decades to get its act together, and still is. But if the Iraqis and us dont popcorn fart a perfect democracy out our rumps in a month its a failure right Paul ?
Watch, as Iraq gradually gets its act together and improves Obama will be getting the credit for what he said he never wanted any part of.

  • Ken says:

“Iraq was fundamentally a huge mistake and the very reason GWB was a failed president.”

I do agree that Bush will be judged primarily on Iraq, as well as his leadership during 9/11, however I do not agree that Iraq was a huge mistake. Mistakes were certainly made, but there were more than enough reasons to finally deal with Iraq, in my opinion.

Bush’s presidency was certainly not a failure, we’re watching failure before our very eyes in the current occupant of the White House.

I wouldn’t say Iraq was barely hanging on, but there was definitely a time where its future was in doubt. Will we ever see a Jeffersonian democracy in Iraq? Maybe, maybe not, but if Iraq stays on its current path, does not build WMD, does not slaughter its own citizens, and does not support terrorism, I consider that a HUGE victory.

There are still a lot of questions to be answered in Iraq’s future, but I think that future is looking a lot better than it was a year ago. The surge was indeed the thing that did the trick and it was a huge gamble for Bush, but it worked.

  • Pennie said: I can’t take anymore flag-waving Iraq posts

Of course you can’t. Happy Iraqis don’t fit the liberal meme.

  • Jane says:

  • kate says:

pennie do you always have to be so incredibly ugly? your attitude just sucks. are you like this in your real life too?

and pennie feel free to call me the liberty czar – as long as you understand i am in exile for the next 3.5 years.

btw, thanks jane for the affirmation. you’re rude too, but not to me – to all those who fought for iraq so, go away. thanks.

    • Dimas says:

What about all the innocent peolpe, men, women, and children who are not soldiers in Iraq, but are still caught up, and killed, in this war? The civilian casualty count is currently 65,000 reported (that means it’s probably at least double that). That makes those American troop casualties seem like nothing. I know personally of a childrens’ wing in a hospital hit by an American bomb (obviously unintentionally) in our initial invasion. This war has to stop.

  • micky says:

We all know that if the topic were radical muslims, Yemenis, Syrians, Libyans, Palestinians, Taliban, Bathists, etc… the liberal bleeding hearts would be oozing everywhere for us to give them something because its our fault they’re the way they are.

  • Ken says:

The bottom line is that a successful Iraq is bad news for the dems, and they know it. They would prefer chaos and death to a successful nation simply because they hated Bush.

That liberal compassion is just overflowing!!!

They truly are a pathetic lot.

  • PenniePan says:

“pennie do you always have to be so incredibly ugly? your attitude just sucks. are you like this in your real life too?

and pennie feel free to call me the liberty czar – as long as you understand i am in exile for the next 3.5 years.”

Wow. You are grumpy! Firstly, I am not ugly, I am quite beautiful. My attitude is skeptical to all things right wing. You people need to be watched. For you to make a leap that Barack has suspended or whatever “Liberty” while he is in office is ridiculous. You smoking crack or something? Or are you becomeing extremist?

  • Ken says:

“You smoking crack or something? Or are you becomeing extremist?”

There you have it. If you dislike or disagree with Obama, you’re accused of being an extremist.

Pennie, thanks again. You are the constant reminder of the kind of people that are in power right now.

    “I am quite beautiful.”

You seem to share Obama’s narcissism as well, no wonder you like him.

  • micky says:

” Firstly, I am not ugly, I am quite beautiful.”

Geez, modesty will get you everywhere baby.
All the surgery, make up, healthy diet couldnt changed what a wretched person you are.
Yeah, you probably look good up front but once some guy gets a grip on whats going on in that head of yours it would lend to the explanation for your 3 divorces ?
Sorry, but you come out and so narcissistically and blatatntly claim you’re such a beauty you’re really setting yourself up for all kinds of returns.

” My attitude is skeptical to all things right wing.”

I guess you like the idea of a government that runs your property, your mouth, your kids and basically any important element of your life ?

“You people need to be watched. For you to make a leap that Barack has suspended or whatever “Liberty” while he is in office is ridiculous. You smoking crack or something? Or are you becomeing extremist?”

If they’re smoking crack then whats your excuse for your complete inability to fathom reality ?
Are you not aware of that its not the place of the government to dictate who works where and for how much ? (AIG, GM) Or to have a czar for every dept that answers to no one and does not have to go thru congressional channels/protocols to do the things they do ?
Yeah, kates gets a good nod for the liberty Czar.
I’ve decided on what you should be Czar of…

    Moonbat Dementia

  • Pennie said: Wow. You are grumpy! Firstly, I am not ugly, I am quite beautiful.

And you completely missed Kate’s point. Which I suspect you do on purpose. Suppose we stopped feeding you? Would you go away?
