Tammy Duckworth Dragged By Fox News Joey Jones

We will call it the battle of the prosthetic legs. Tammy Duckworth is the Junior Senator from Illinois who lost her legs in Iraq. Joey Jones is a Fox News Contributor who lost his legs in Afghanistan. They see the world from entirely different perspectives. The Senator does not think that Army veteran Pete Hegseth is fit to be our Secretary of Defense. As Fox employees Jones and Hegseth are friends and commented on military matters together. Jones supports Hegseth. As Miss Tammy jumped ugly, Joey decided to clap back.

In case you missed the Hegseth Confirmation Hearing, it did no favors to Democrats and in particular Democrat women. Tammy Duckworth hasn’t shut her piehole about it since. She told Rolling Stone in an article published today, that Hegseth is not qualified:

“The man is absolutely clueless,” Duckworth assesses bluntly to Rolling Stone. A woman and a combat veteran who lost both legs in Iraq, Duckworth voted to confirm both Mark Esper and James Mattis, Trump’s nominees for Secretary of Defense in his first term. Even as she disagreed politically with Esper, Duckworth says, “He was competent and he could do his job, and he could go to Singapore, to [the Asian Defense Summit], the Shangri-La Dialogue, and go toe-to-toe with the Chinese defense secretary – and, I’m sorry, but Hegseth is not going to be able to go toe-to-toe with the Chinese defense secretary, and think that he’s going to gee-shucks smile his way out of that type of a situation.”

Hmmmm? Tammy sounds a little jelly with the “gee-shucks” comment. Esper didn’t exactly go toe to toe with the Chinese Defense Secretary and neither did Biden’s Lloyd Austin. Cripes. More from Rolling Stone:

At the same time that Hegseth was displaying a woefully inadequate grasp of the basic contours of the job he wants, he was also blithely threatening to fire the admirals and generals currently serving in the Pentagon. If that happens, Duckworth says, service members will be the ones who bear the burden: “All of the top leadership – with the experience, who can tactically plan a combat operation – are going to be gone, and you’re gonna have a bunch of hacks who have never commanded anything more than 200 personnel, who are gonna decide whether or not you go fight in Greenland or Panama, wherever. It’s really demoralizing.”

Wow! Look at Tammy Duckworth showing just how much respect she has for Our Troops. “Hacks”, really. If you listen to her on The View, it sounds like she is talking more about her own shortcomings than Pete Hegseth’s.

He’s a glib individual who flipped the script, sounds like Tammy is saying he is smarter than she is. When the Senator says that Pete Hegseth put women in combat on trial, that, again says more about her and her abilities.

So, I was not surprised when another paraplegic, Johnny “Joey” Jones weighed in:

Then reliable folk on X started discussing what really happened with her helicopter.

This is not the first time that Joey has tussled with Tammy. He accused Senator Duckworth of using her injuries as a shield regarding President Trump:

On Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla, Fox News contributor Johnny “Joey” Jones, who lost both of his legs as a bomb technician in Afghanistan, responded to some of the criticisms Sen. Tammy Duckworth has made about President Trump, as well as Fox News’ Tucker Carlson.

“I have enough respect for her to believe that she can win her battles and lose her battles, irrespective of the fact she lost her legs, like me, by accident while serving. And so I just hate the fact that she kind of throws it up there as a shield, like, you can’t question anything about my motives because of what happened to me years ago. And unfortunately, we know that’s just not the case. It’s not a lifetime achievement award where you never get questioned again.”

Senator Duckworth is a mother, a woman, a Senator and a wounded vet, she may not be criticized. Except by a vet who also gave his legs.

The current SecDef was running a disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan and you approved of him, Senator. Your feelings are noted since that is all you bring to the table.
