Watching the coverage of the rioting, looting, and fires burning last night, my heart hurt for those who were having their lives and businesses destroyed by thugs who felt entitled to smash and steal things because, as someone commented on-air on Fox News last night while watching the Ferguson Meat & Liquor store be broken into and looted, “This is justice.”
Well, that “justice” is on the backs of hardworking people. Many of whom are black.

We are now getting a better picture of just how much destruction there was last night.

… the news is also breaking that at least one person has been found dead.
The body was found in a white Pontiac car parked in a driveway at around 9am.
The driver’s side window is shot out. The victim is a black male in his 20’s. There is no personal information about identity of the victim, or ownership of the vehicle.
Did this man die for “justice,” too?
As I told my daughter this morning, even if you feel that the “system” has wronged you, that does NOT give you the right to destroy OTHER people’s property. Black leaders and celebrities were busy screaming about the jury system last night. Will they stand up this morning to help those whose livelihoods have been trashed and burned by those claiming “justice”? I won’t hold my breath.
UPDATE: News is breaking that Michael Brown’s stepfather didn’t seem to share the call for calm that Michael Brown’s parents did.
Michael Brown’s stepfather last night repeatedly urged protesters to “Burn this bitch down” after a prosecutor announced that no criminal charges would be filed against the Ferguson, Missouri police officer who killed the unarmed teenager.
After consoling a weeping McSpadden, the 38-year-old (Louis) Head–who was standing atop a platform in the middle of the agitated crowd of several hundred protesters–began screaming “Burn this bitch down!” He did this at least ten times, and at one point yelled for a microphone so that he could broadcast his message beyond the range of his unamplified voice.
While trying to incite the crowd, Head (pictured above) was wearing a commemorative t-shirt with the words “I Am Mike Brown” and a beanie, both of which bore a silkscreened photo of Brown in his high school cap and gown.
Head is an ex-convict whose rap sheet includes two felony narcotics convictions, according to state records. He pleaded guilty in 1997 to a marijuana distribution charge and was put in a shock incarceration program and placed on probation for five years. After violating probation, Head’s release was revoked and he was remanded to state prison.
It seems that the president’s words – and the words of the parents – didn’t stretch very far.
