Melissa Rivers, daughter of famed octogenarian comedian Joan Rivers, has just confirmed that her mother has passed away following complications from out-patient surgery last week.
New York’s FOX411 reported earlier today that the clinic where Rivers had her (fatal) procedure –Yorkville Endoscopy–on August 28 is now being investigated by the state health officials.
“The state department of health is investigating the matter,” a Department of Health official told us. “It’s a full investigation of the matter… Since it’s an ongoing investigation I can’t comment on what we’re looking at.”
Rivers was rushed away from the clinic at 201 E. 93rd Street by emergency medical personally when she stopped breathing during a throat procedure.
Just five weeks ago Rivers was in the news for unleashing a heart-felt lambasting of those who favor Hamas over Israel in the ongoing deadly fighting in Israel. Last month Rivers also attacked the decades younger Selena Gomez, telling her to shut up, over remarks made by the younger celebrity over the Palestinian conflict.
Rivers legendary comedic routines will live on in the world of Hollywood and in the hearts of those of us who admire a woman who can dish it out and still maintain her composure and her sense of humor.
