Mimosa, Bloody Mary, nice flute of champagne — or maybe a favorite tipple in your coffee. Make yourself one and join me at our own Algonquin Round Table, the spirit of Dorothy Parker abides.

Happy Sunday, dear friends! We are certainly in the thick of summer. I would like to believe it is the heat that is getting under the collar with members of the portside, but, alas, they are cra-cra at any temperature. I’m sure you’ve seen the antics and we’ll review some choice morsels, but first things first. Let me pass you all chilled flutes of the bubbly while you grab plates and dig into a sumptuous brunch. Hope you wore your stretchiest clothing! Let’s get to it. L’Chaim!

When Truth Becomes ‘Right-Wing’

Reaping what the Green Luddites sowed

This is true for much of Europe, but Dutch are leading the pack.

As the Dutch government goes “green” for the agenda of the progressive left, electricity rations are hitting the Dutch citizens. (snip)

In some instances the rationing is so severe, and the delay for reliable and affordable electricity so long, that it’s “holding up economic growth” with officials admitting that it “could force businesses to rethink their investment plans.” Translation: thousands of businesses may go out of business before even getting into business.

Just how long you might ask? Six months with no electricity? A year? Try ten years in some places:

Truth and Democrats are not on speaking terms

Democrats haven’t been so mad since the last time the Republicans took their slaves. Without Maria to scrub the toilet, or Jesus trimming the shrubs, what shall genteel AWFLs do?

Thirteen-year-old boy didn’t hesitate when duty called

EVERETT, Wash. — Even days after saving an 11-year-old boy from drowning in Silver Lake in South Everett’s Thornton A. Sullivan Park, 13-year-old Gauge Bryant said his legs are still shaking.

“I didn’t know what to do, I just went with it, I just thought quick,” Bryant said.

Gauge’s instinct saved a young boy’s life. Though, I’m not too surprised when learning —

Once others took over, Bryant said he saw his aunt praying, and he did too.

“I started praying to myself, I was like, please God, please save this young man’s life, I want him to have a life, live long, have a healthy life, and have a wife and children.”

That young man is going to go far. And I applaud his immediate goals, too.

He said he has two goals: to meet the boy he saved and give him a hug and a “handshake,” and to get certified in CPR.

Bravo, Gauge! Well done.

Oh look at the time! It certainly gallops along when spent with friends. Do go and enjoy the rest of your Sunday. Hug your loved ones and count your blessings. See you all next week. Cheers!
