Mimosa, Bloody Mary, nice flute of champagne — or maybe a favorite tipple in your coffee. Make yourself one and join me at our own Algonquin Round Table, the spirit of Dorothy Parker abides.

Happy Sunday, dear friends! After our first week of 47, are you all tired of all the winning yet? I’m even still giggling at the non-stop whining from the portside. I lift my glass to them and say, “Cope harder, darlings.”

A big thank you to my VG sister, Deanna, for handling the hostess duties last Sunday and seeing you all properly fed and entertained. Pass the croissants, refill your flutes and let’s get to it! L’Chaim!

So much winning! Saving the kids from Transgenderism

The persecution of Dr. Haim by Creepy Joe’s politicized DOJ was upside-down world on steroids. He was to be an example of what would happen to any individual who defied or exposed the Menegele experimentation and mutilation of children in service of the Transcult. The DOJ dropped the case last Friday and asked the court to dismiss it “with prejudice” meaning Haim will never be exposed again to the bogus charges brought against me.

Don’t pat yourself on the back so hard, dude

Now that Trump has been sworn in as President, all sorts of legacy “reporters” are suddenly slithering out from under their rocks to say, yeah, it’s true, we got shutdown on the Hunter laptop thing.

A pair of former reporters at venerable DC-focused outlet Politico slammed “cowardly editors” at their ex-outlet for burying stories about Hunter Biden’s laptop — as well as other major stories — contributing to a false narrative that “misinformation” was being spread about Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden before the 2020 election.

Puck News scribe Tara Palmeri hosted Axios senior politics reporter Marc Caputo on her “Somebody’s Gotta Win” podcast for Inauguration Day to discuss their mutual frustration with what they saw as Politico’s mishandling of Biden family coverage.

I’m sorry, but when someone knows full well that their reporting was killed for partisan reasons, and they keep quiet about it for over four years, I’m less inclined to want to throw a parade in your favor. I’d rather you spend some time in honest work, like scrubbing toilets or picking tomatoes, for a few years.

You are part of the reason we can’t hate legacy media enough.

Wonder how our new Secretary of Defense will handle this?

“Oh please, Mr. Fox, do not throw me into the briar patch!”

I’m sure President Trump expected this …

A federal judge blocked President Trump’s executive order on birthright citizenship from taking effect on Thursday.

U.S. District Court Judge John Coughenour, a Reagan appointee, said the order was “blatantly unconstitutional,” according to Reuters.

Blatantly? Hmmmm…

“[T]he Fourteenth Amendment has never been interpreted to extend citizenship universally to everyone born within the United States,” Trump’s order states. “The Fourteenth Amendment has always excluded from birthright citizenship persons who were born in the United States but not ‘subject to the jurisdiction thereof.’”

A couple of things to note … first – ‘born here’ is not absolute since it has never been the practice that children born to diplomats on assignment in America receive American citizenship. Why? That “jurisdiction” thing. Second, the oft-cited “Reagan appointee” isn’t the talisman to get the supporters of Trump’s EO to shutup, they think it is. Coughenour’s nomination was a political deal and his conduct from the bench all these years has proven time and again he’s no friend to normative American justice. He’s one of those darlings of the portside described as a “maverick” each time he goes rogue. Even the 9th Circuit has reversed him.

So yeah, don’t see Trump’s EO as reckless as much as a tactical way to get it to SCOTUS as soon as possible.

Strangers or Angels?

Aaron Samson, 48, was caring for his 83-year-old father-in-law in his Pacific Palisades home when the time came to flee on Tuesday. They had no car, so Samson flagged down a neighbor who agreed to give them and their belongings a ride.

Samson began recording their escape, with flames and smoke surrounding the two as they abandoned a car. While Samson was retrieving a walker for his father-in-law, a woman could be heard screaming in panic as firefighters continued to usher the crowd along. (snip)

“My father-in-law was saying, ‘Aaron, if we are ever in a position where the flames are right there, you just run and leave me here,'” Samson told The Associated Press on Wednesday.

It did not get to that point. They walked for about 15 minutes before, for the second time in a matter of hours, a good Samaritan picked them up, then drove them to safety in Santa Monica.

Continued prayers for all the families caught up in the disasters from North Carolina to California. And mad props for those who step into help with no thought of seeking publicity or fame.
