Snow White star, Rachel Zegler is not filling the world with sunshine nor is she filling the movie theatre seats.
In fact, Disney’s live-action Snow White remake is a bomb of epic proportions, with weekend earnings of $87 million globally.
Now, Jonah Platt, the son of Snow White producer, Marc Platt, has slammed Rachel Zegler for her “immature attitude”. Marc Platt even flew to New York to meet with t actress directly after her “free Palestine” remark. (To perhaps get her to shut up.) This according to Variety:
A Disney executive raised the studio’s concerns with Zegler’s team, while the film’s producer Marc Platt flew to New York to speak directly with her. But the actress, whose relationship with the studio began to unravel in 2022 during a contentious ‘West Side Story’ awards season campaign and continued as she trashed the beloved original ‘Snow White,’ stood her ground, and the post remained. Behind the scenes, death threats toward Zegler’s co-star Gal Gadot, who is Israeli, spiked, and Disney had to pay for additional security for the mother of four.”-Tatiana Siegel, Variety
In a tale of good versus evil, Zegler played “Snow White” and Gal Gadot played the villainous Evil Queen.
The one who trolled her co-star with a 'Free Palestine post' got no death threats and didn't need security.
The one who spoke up for the return of the hostages got death threats and needed security.
That difference should tell you everything you need to know about good vs. evil https://t.co/ngObeRioPA

And, some of these comments on X have been downright looney tunes:
The comments under this post call Gal a "baby killer" who is "playing the victim," proving the point that she needed extra security because people have insane reactions to her just existing. https://t.co/A1j8gFNyEj

While the Rachel Zegler fans are in full-Hamas force calling Gadot a “Zionist-baby-killer”, they also called out Marc Platt for flying to New York to have a sit-down with Zegler. One fan sought out Marc’s son, Jonah Platt, and his Instagram for a “how dare you”:
Your dad flew to NYC to reprimand a young actress? Any words on this? Cuz that’s creepy as hell and uncalled for. People have the right to free speech no? Shame on your father.”
Platt responded:
You really want to do this?
Yeah, my dad, the producer of the enormous piece of Disney IP with hundreds of millions of dollars on the line, had to leave his family to fly across the country to reprimand his 20-year-old employee for dragging her personal politics into the middle of promoting the movie for which she signed a multi-million dollar contract to get paid and do publicly for.”-Jonah Platt
So, who is the poison apple here?
This is a young woman with a major chip on her shoulder. Rachel Zegler has had this chip since West Side Story. The tale of Ms. Zegler’s rise to stardom can be a cautionary one for young, talented, aspiring actresses who can carry a tune. It is a story of narcissism and ego. Zegler did not back down from her remarks. Zegler used her platform to sow hate and division between people she didn’t even know and her co-star. Zegler is a catty, spoiled, little brat who called Gal Godot “a professional pageant queen“, which is, basically, a veiled insult. She thinks she is the golden child here, the “star” of the show. Rachel Zegler is the quintessential Northern New Jersey Catholic School mean girl. Am I stereotyping a bit? Perhaps. But I have lived in the geographic area as a young girl and yes, have lived through this experience myself. I know her type. Threatened by any competition or by anyone with perhaps more brains and beauty. Forgive me for a moment as I wax about men life as a young pre-teen in New Jersey in a Catholic School for but a moment. Here is a side note: my best friend at that time of my life was Israeli and yes, her older sister went back to Israel to serve in the IDF. Her family was the warm spot of sunshine that welcomed me in and I preferred hanging out with them instead of the daughter of the prune face who was the head of the BINGO committee and the other daughters of those cooked-and-baked in the parish. Why? These are the very petty girls (like Zegler) who hurled veiled barbs out as insults, spread rumors, changed the dance moves on the routine and smiled innocently in mass on Sunday, singing in the chorus, knowing that to all of the ones watching, they will always come out smelling like a rose. Rachel Zegler stinks to high Heaven and it isn’t a pleasant stink. And the movie stinks. And, Disney knows it.
Perhaps Gal hung on to her her “magic lasso” from her Wonder Woman Days. If only it possessed the powers to make little Rachel Zegler tell the truth: “I am a person God has gifted with a bit of talent but I still have some considerable growing up to do. In fact, I am a horrible person and a real jerk of a human being right now.”
So, here is a truth bomb for Rachel and for all of her Hamas-groupie-Godot-Israel-haters. Wonder Woman, starring Gal Gadot, made $100.5 million on opening weekend in The United States alone back in 2017. Not bad for a “professional pageant queen” and, quite frankly, a bad ass.
Remember you’re the one who can fill the world with sunshine”-Snow White
Or, you can fill it with narcissism, ugliness, division and hate, Rachel. The choice is yours. Keep going down this path, Lord Farquaad, and your star won’t shine as long or as bright. I promise. Shalom, Rach.

“Rachel Zegler is the quintessential Northern New Jersey Catholic School mean girl.”
She reminds me of nasty, spiteful middle school girls I saw when I taught in secondary schools. These were girls of middling ability and looks who strived to rise to the top of the pecking order, but didn’t really ever quite make it leaving them perpetually angry.
As for the new West Side Story, I didn’t realise she was in it. Perhaps because I thought it was a superficial remake of the original and didn’t pay closes attention.
