From Human Events we get this video from pro-illegal immigrant protestors in Arizona this weekend. On Friday, the protestors gathered at the state capitol… and promptly started a riot.
New aerial footage has surfaced of the violence that broke out at the Arizona state capitol building after a new illegal immigration bill was signed into law on Friday. In stark contrast to peaceful Tea Party rallies, the pro-illegal immigration protesters took to the streets pelting police with rocks and water bottles as a means to voice their discontent.
The new footage shows the riot was not quite as “small” as media reports initially indicated.
Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer signed the new state immigration bill into law on Friday causing a great deal of heartburn for supporters of illegal immigration. The law forces Arizona state agencies and law enforcement to aggressively comply with federal immigration law.

Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like pelting police officers with rocks and bottles isn’t the best way to get what you want in this situation.
Frankly, the rioting seems to do nothing except bolster the argument for why this bill was needed. The federal government has failed Arizona residents. Despite growing numbers of crime — drug smuggling, assault, rape, kidnapping, murder — nothing has been done to secure the borders or crack down on illegal immigration. While not all illegal immigrants are violent criminals or drug smugglers, they are all criminals. Even if our borders aren’t well-enforced, it is still a crime to cross them illegally. The federal government has just sat back and let it happen. The state of Arizona responded to the overwhelming crime… and the protestors of this bill responded to the state with violence.
Kind of just proves the whole point of why this bill was needed, doesn’t it?
And what are people so angry about? The bill requires law enforcement officials to basically do nothing more than aggressively enforce our immigration laws. Arizona voters overwhelmingly approve of the bill, and that includes a majority of Democrats and independents. Something has to be done in Arizona, and if the federal government won’t step up, then the state absolutely should.
If illegal immigrants weren’t committing such high numbers of criminal acts, then I have no doubt that Arizona lawmakers would be looking the other way, just like the federal government is. But the crime makes it impossible for lawmakers to ignore the problem. It’s real easy for Obama to sit up in his ivory tower in Washington D.C., far removed from the problem, and criticize the state. He doesn’t have to fear for his life or his family’s lives. He doesn’t have to worry about his daughters being kidnapped. He doesn’t have to worry about drug smuggling in his backyard. When you have to deal with that kind of criminal activity every day, then you want to act. It’s why voters are so in favor of this bill. They want the crime to stop. And the people who are protesting the bill can’t even do so without any violence.
Why should Arizona not aggressively enforce immigration laws, when the pro-illegal immigration crowd can’t even protest peacefully?

But President Obama does have to worry about the 2010 and 2012 elections, and getting support of Hispanic voters and illegal immigrants will help that effort a great deal. Therefore, attacking this bill and pushing for a new amnesty bill is a high priority.

I’m curious to know if California, Texas, and New Mexico will be next to introduce such a bill in their state. How would things go as well? I’m assuming that the reaction will be just the same, because Hispanics are no longer the minority, they’ve become the majority. I agree with the article about the stance against illegal immigrants, but I also believe that this leaves room for racial profiling and even more hate crimes. Shouldn’t we seek a way to compromise for both sides?

I think the time has come and gone for compromise. Unless, of course, you want to live in a hell hole like Mexico? Those are essentially the options right now. Either let it go and watch us turn into another Mexico (and hoo boy, how much fun would we have there?) or start kicking them out? Oh yeah, I forgot. That would be mean of us.

When I entered kindergarten – I was put into a class for the mentally retarded (because I lived in a neighborhood with a growing population of families of mexican descent). My teacher assumed I did not speak English and required special bilingual support which was not available at the time. Yes – I was a Mexican-American citizen child.
It literally took 2 weeks for my parents to force the school to place me in the mainstream kindergarten class — even though I could respond to questions in English. At the time if was easier for frustrated- overworked teachers (not bad people), who felt school district should have a place for spanish speaking children to learn (reasonable), to send me to the special needs class – no questions asked – based on my skin color. Although the error was corrected, as a child I never lost the feeling I was not welcomed and somehow my rights as a citizen were not equal to those of white americans. Be careful – children are watching.

If there were a large number of illegal european immigrants and they started cracking down, you’d be pissed off too. This bill encourages racial profiling. These riots dont “prove thats why we needed to crack down”, they prove that people are angry.
The bill makes LEGAL immigrants suspect to unfair treatment. Just because you’re white and unaffected doesn’t mean its okay. I swear I never thought I’d see racism encouraged by our government in the 21st century. Unreal.

Hopefully–Americans will donate (however small) money to Arizona if the Governor Jan brewer gets sued. I agree we must enforce our borders. There are those who will cry “racism” no matter what we do or say. This should be a no-brainer after the attacks on our country on 9/11. We need to enforce the laws that Federal Government refuses to do. It may be the ones who are complaining are the ones who are not here legally. Anyone else is probably someone who benefits politically or economically from them being here. It’s time to enforce our own laws and send them back.

One of the main industries in Arizona is tourism. If they didn’t have illegals to make beds, maintain golf courses and hotel grounds and wash dishes, you couldn’t find a place to eat, a hotel with a bed that was made or golf course that wasn’t overgrown with weeds.
Who is going to do all that hard, low paid work? The geezers who retired to Arizona and support the new law? We are being dishonest with ourselves.

Then maybe children should watch how to speak English. Remember, you guys came to our country, not the other way around. Hell, I have an adopted brother from Korea who was six years old, didn’t speak or understand a lick of English and had no problems learning it (without any accent, btw). And bear in mind that Korean is a hell of lot tougher language than Spanish (which is at least somewhat related to English). The ball is in your court…

The only purpose of immigration policy should be to encourage more people to become American. If they can’t assimulated to American cultures and mores, then they are a disease eating at the core of our society.
It is amoral for American policy to permitted low wage slavery by imposing minimum wage on legal residents and citizen, but let in umlimited number of illegals to fill the jobs that government define as too low paid for legal residents. We should put through a quota guest workers program like the Saudi, with workers camps and all. It is more cost effective and allow for better control – or we can let our young people find jobs at the pay level comparable to their skills and work their way up.

Chicago police told me ‘you know the neighborhood is changing, you should consider moving out of here for your own safety’ Few weeks later some illegal scumbag gangbanger anchor babies told me ‘hey weda you better move out or we’ll burn you out’ They did burn out the family next door and killed 2 elderly people on the 2nd floor, media didn’t even tell the truth that a mexi anchor baby burned the house down, typical demliberal chicago cover up.
You will never hear true stories like that on CNN or MSNBC or any democrat illegal pandering media outlet because they want to set us up for the slaughter..
