The Daily Caller collected the sensitive and well thought answers from twitter by so called progressives last night to the rebuttal by Senator Ernst to the State of the Union:
Politics is a nasty business. Substantive differences are expected, but in the era of social media so are personal attacks.
After the State of the Union Address, the Republican response was delivered by newly elected Iowa Senator Joni Ernst. Ernst is a combat veteran and farmer who came from humble beginnings to the United States Senate. But none of that mattered to many on Twitter who took the opportunity, probably their first to ever see her, to smear her with vile and sexist tweets.
For people who talk about cultural sensitivity and rape culture as a bad bad thing, this tweet (cursing redacted) is both ironic and deeply disturbing:
DR.ReginaldQ Johnson @REGGIEQJOHNSON
@joniernst this whore. Is a worthless c***. I wish bin laden f****d her ass in Iraq
His mother must be so proud. A doctor no less. At Cedars Sinai. Somehow, I think his bedside manner would match the class and professionalism shown in the above tweet. Not the man to bring home to mama ladies and gentlemen. To add to the charming and classy tweets, an MSNBC host decided to get involved but at least he did not promote rape. Way to stay professional MSNBC.

The progressives who claim there is a war on women by Republicans actually are the ones with the most appalling display of mmisogynyand privilege. The rebuttal to the State of the Union is traditional and it seems when a woman speaks in response that the left truly loses their ever loving minds.
I suppose to the left a woman veering from the approved script means she is verbally battered in a way that makes the Take Back the Night organizers cry. So where are the women’s groups defending Senator Ernst? Anyone? NOW?
Stay classy liberals. Stay classy.
Joni Ernst is a strong, heroic woman, this crap will flow off of her like water off of a duck’s back.
More of the right’s “war on women” heh?
The left were even outraged by her shoes, some moderate-heeled camouflage pumps. Somehow, there was no sense of irony at all at the thought that they nominated Wendy Davis for Governor of Texas over a pair of pink tennis shoes.
