In the very city where men once pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to break free from tyranny, the blood-red flag of the Chinese Communist Party was raised above City Hall. Philadelphia, the cradle of liberty and birthplace of the Declaration of Independence, recently hosted a one-day diversity event celebrating the founding of the CCP. What in the world?

A Blue City Flying a Red Flag

Philadelphia is as blue as it gets. The mayor, the city council, the district attorney — all Democrat. Out of 17 council seats, only one belongs to a Republican. The rest march in lockstep with the same left-wing agenda.

That’s the backdrop for what happened at City Hall. A city run entirely by Democrats raised the flag of communist China and called it diversity. I don’t care what excuse they give. The real issue is that no one wants to assimilate anymore. Every group waves its own banner while the American flag is treated like just one option among many. That is not unity. That is surrender.

The flag’s raising by the city’s Office of Immigrant Affairs is to mark the anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and promote cultural exchange between Philadelphia and its Chinese sister city, Tianjin, according to reports. – Newsweek

The same city that gave us independence is now honoring the world’s leading authoritarian regime.

Officials were quick to insist the ceremony was part of an Honors Diversity Flag Raising Program, supposedly to celebrate immigrant communities.

Diversity Has Become America’s Weakness

I am fed up with the nonstop worship of diversity. It has become nothing more than a tool to erase American values and replace them with communist orthodoxy or jihadist extremist groups that seek to destroy us. Leaders trip over themselves to honor every foreign flag and fringe cause while shoving our own culture to the back of the line. Diversity no longer means unity. It means dismantling America.

We have gone from welcoming people into the American family to letting every group bring its own flag and demand equal billing with Old Glory. That isn’t unity. That isn’t assimilation. It’s Balkanization.

If you come to America, you come for freedom. You come to be part of this country, not to fly the banner of the regime you supposedly left behind. Flying the flag of a foreign adversary over Philadelphia City Hall is bad enough. We are talking about a regime that jails journalists, bulldozes churches, spies on Americans, and runs concentration camps. And that’s the tame part. That image alone tells the world our leaders care more about empty gestures than defending the values that made this country worth coming to in the first place.

The City That Once Defied Kings Is Now Courting Tyrants

America’s enemies watch closely for signs of weakness, and nothing says soft target quite like a city that once defied a king now bowing to a communist party.

It’s also part of a larger pattern. In Dearborn, Michigan, jihadist movements have taken root and are now flexing their influence not only in public spaces but in politics, schools, and culture. Whole communities have been reshaped, and the people in charge have allowed it to happen under the banner of diversity.

Now, in Philadelphia, we see the same weakness playing out. The city raises the flag of communist China and acts like it’s just another harmless cultural celebration. It’s not. This is a warning that we’re losing ground from the inside out. It’s surrender.

How long before this kind of submission becomes the norm? How long before the CCP’s influence isn’t just flying over City Hall but shaping what’s happening inside it?

Look around. What used to be unthinkable is happening right in front of us. Symbols become policy. Gestures become laws. Once leaders normalize honoring tyranny, it’s only a matter of time before they start governing like it. Barack Biden tried to take us down that road, but thankfully, the true Americans woke up before it was too late.

A History of Flying the Wrong Flags

This isn’t Philadelphia’s first flirtation with ideological surrender. Eight years ago, city officials proudly raised a flag celebrating gender ideology, a political movement that seeks to rewrite biological reality and dismantle social foundations that have existed for centuries.

It wasn’t about inclusion. It was about indoctrination. And now, years later, the same city that championed the trans agenda is flying the banner of an authoritarian regime. The common thread is clear: a government eager to appease fashionable ideologies and foreign powers, no matter how corrosive they are to the American experiment.

The Bigger Picture: A Nation Losing Its Backbone

We can debate symbolism all day, but symbols matter. They shape how we see ourselves and how the world sees us. Raising the flag of the CCP on American soil, on a government building, sends a message that we are comfortable honoring those who would destroy us.

And if we’re being honest, that’s not a Philadelphia problem. That’s an America problem. It’s the result of a political class so desperate to prove its tolerance that it forgets what it’s supposed to stand for. It’s a culture so terrified of offending anyone that it refuses to defend itself.

Our enemies are not confused. They know exactly what they stand for. The question is, do we still?

Time to Choose Who We Are

Philadelphia is supposed to be the heartbeat of American liberty. It’s where a ragtag collection of colonies told the most powerful empire on Earth to go pound sand. It’s where the idea of self-government was written into history.

And yet, on September 30, 2025, that same city flew the banner of the Chinese Communist Party as a reminder that tyranny doesn’t always conquer by force. Sometimes, it’s invited in.

If we don’t start saying no to this kind of nonsense, we won’t need to worry about foreign enemies defeating us. We’ll have defeated ourselves.
