#PharmaBro Martin Shkreli Cries As He Is Sentenced [VIDEOS]

I am pretty sure we all remember the smirking, smug little creep known as the “Pharma Bro” aka Martin Shkreli from his unforgettable appearance in front of Congress in 2016. Mr. Shkreli was hauled in front of Congress because of his actions while acting as Chief Executive Officer for Turing Pharmaceuticals. What did he do that was so egregious that he should appear in front of Congress you ask? He raised the price of a life-saving drug that prevents toxoplasmosis in AIDS patients by 5000%.

Unfortunately raising the cost of the otherwise little-known drug from $13.50 a pill to $750  was not what eventually landed him on trial. Shkreli was found guilty of securities fraud for dishonestly using investors cash when he was working for two hedge funds, MSMB Capital and MSMB Healthcare, from 2009-2014. The judge also told Shkreli that he would have to surrender $7.4 million in assets, including a Picasso painting and a one of a kind Wu-Tang Clan album he bought for $2M.

This is a man whose behavior has made him one of the most hated people in the country. Evidently one of the issues facing his lawyer was finding jurors for his trial that would be impartial-they lost literally hundreds of potential jurors because they hated him so much. The comments of some of these prospective jurors were released in court transcripts and some of the highlights were:

“Juror 144

Juror: ‘I heard through the news of how the defendant changed the price of a pill by up-selling it. I heard he bought an album from the Wu-Tang Clan for a million dollars.

Judge: ‘The question is, have you heard anything that would affect your ability to decide this case with an open mind? Can you do that?’

Juror: ‘I don’t think I can because he kind of looks like a d***’

Juror 59

Juror: ‘Your Honor, totally he is guilty and in no way can I let him slide out of anything because..

Judge: ‘OK. Is that your attitude toward anyone charged with a crime who has not been proven guilty?”

Juror: ‘It’s my attitude toward his entire demeanor, what he has done to people.’

Judge: ‘All right. We are going to excuse you, sir.’

Juror: ‘And he disrespected the Wu-Tang Clan.'”

He even trolled the prosecutors of his case as well as media outlets covering the trial on Facebook. He had been kicked off of Twitter last year for trolling journalist Lauren Duca. Shkreli photoshopped his face over that of Ms. Duca’s husband and made the photo his profile picture on Twitter. He also invited her to be his +1 at the inauguration of President Trump-her response is the lead Tweet below.

But gone was the smirk that he wore through his testimony in front of Congress when a New York judge handed down his sentence for securities fraud on Friday. According to witness reports when Shkreli heard that he would spend the next six and a half years in prison he began to cry and begged the judge for mercy and a chance to show the world “what he is capable of”. Well, Mr. Shkreli, we have seen what you are capable of and we did not like it very much.

Reportedly even his own attorney was quoted in an article in the Daily Mail as saying :

‘There are times when I want to punch him in the face”

Well, counselor, on that we can agree.

Will he be sharing a cell with a 6′ 5″ transvestite gang member called Bubba? If so he might have another reason to cry.
