President Obama took some time out of his vacation at Martha’s Vineyard this afternoon to make a statement on the brutal and horrifying execution of American journalist James Foley of the Washington Post, who had been missing for two years.  His captors, members of the Islamic group ISIS, held him until just the right time to behead him on camera.  While the White House released a statement saying basically that “whoa, if this is true it is APPALLING,” the Resident-in-Chief has had yet to actually make a statement of his own.  He’s been far too busy ignoring generals getting killed in Afghanistan, playing golf, and fomenting racial unrest in Ferguson.  Meanwhile, at least two other countries have put out statements about the beheading already.  In other words, our feckless leader is way behind the curve…as usual.

He claimed that ISIS’s victims are “overwhelmingly Muslim,”  that they speak for no religion and that “their ideology is bankrupt.”

“People like this ultimately fail,” he went on.  “The future belongs to those who build and not destroy. The future belongs to people like Jim Foley…A group like ISIL has no place in the 21st century…We will continue to confront this hateful terrorism and replace it with a sense of hope… that’s what Jim Foley stood for.”

“All of us feel the ache of his absence…”

Lots of emotionless rhetoric.  Lots of nothing.  What was missing was a statement about how we will decimate them, how we will bring the fire of a hundred thousand missiles down on their heads, and turn their entire craphole into glass.

Less than six minutes.  That’s all the time Barack Obama has for an American who died in the middle of a desert because a disgusting, barbaric animal sawed off his head with a knife.

UPDATE, 1300 EST: Even the Brits have more balls than Obama: “We will oppose ISIS with every breath in our body.” Britain says they may send troops to Baghdad.  Meanwhile, the White House is breathlessly tweeting their favorite poignant moments from the disgusting charade that was Obama’s speech.

Sick: The White House knew ISIS planned to behead Foley and did nothing.  At all.

UPDATE, 1510 EST: Losing no time, Obama made it back to the golf course after his 5 and a half minute presser in record speed.
