We’re familiar with the saying, “A liberal is a conservative who hasn’t been mugged yet.” That’s a quippy way to say liberals don’t live in reality, and it gets to the truth of the matter.
Ryan Moore is one such former liberal who got woke and realized he was actually a conservative. This happened after, though not immediately, he was mugged and started thinking about how he could protect himself. As a lifelong liberal he was steeped in liberal anti-gun sentiment. He felt the Second Amendment was outdated and that life as we live it today did not justify a right to bear arms. Over time and facing his experiences head on, he found that he would become a gun owner and a concealed carry permit holder. He had already decided to move out of the liberal stronghold of San Francisco – where he was mugged – but it took him a few more years before he could come to terms with his true political leanings. The last notable liberal action he took was voting for Hillary, even though he knew it was the wrong thing to do. That’s liberal guilt taking its toll.
But now Ryan is free! And predictably his freedom is being assaulted. Not by men with guns, but by other unawake liberals who wish to keep him in the fold, or at least out of a job. No one should face these kind of threats for simply asserting support for a political belief, and certainly never for standing by the Constitution. Is there any time liberals are ever put under such threat?
This is one of the best speeches you’ll ever hear about Second Amendment rights and challenges (if you are in his district, support Nick Freitas for Senate!).
Ryan says conservatives must stop being the silent majority. While it’s not necessarily in the conservative nature to call attention to themselves, Ryan is right. If little or meek opposition is heard to the liberal chorus, many people will think a conservative approach doesn’t exist or isn’t worth defending.
Conservatives need to stop being the silent majority and speak up as proud Americans, supporters of the Constitution, the NRA and of President Trump. We can’t let the left silence us on social media and stop us from speaking publicly. They want to take away our First and Second Amendment rights but we are not going to let them.
To my easily confused friends on the left — no, I am not calling for violence; no, I am not a terrorist, no, I am not racist. Peace.
It’s sad that he needs to add that disclaimer, but we should warmly welcome people like Ryan who have seen the light, but also welcome those who are seeking it. Forgive them their misguided antics, and show them how true freedom works – when we take responsibility for our own happiness, health, and safety. This is nothing to be ashamed of, and don’t assume people understand how freedom is gained through owning your life. Thanks, Ryan, for showing others the way out.
After the CNN/Scott Israel/Parkland debacle, I joined the NRA (annual membership only; I am a tightwad). I’ve never owned a gun in my life and only fired one twice. I was outraged by the sanctimony and the need to blame the other.
When the big lies of the Left start to crumble in earnest, I think they’ll go fast. The process may have already begun.
Heh, you caught and fixed the “standing by the Constitutional” bit. I had a snarky bit about that earlier, but our system ate my connection when I tried to post it. 🙂
SQUEEEEEE!! Nick Freitas! (And not just because he’s a good looking Army Special Forces vet, I swear! He’s a great guy too!)
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for posting that video!
RE: Mr. Moore – Reality has opened your mind! Congratulations!
Correction: you don’t have to be in Freitas’s district to vote for him in Virginia. He’s running for the U.S. Senate.
Self-emancipation is a wonderful thing. Congratulations, Mr. Moore, for choosing the Red Pill and freeing your mind, and welcome aboard.
Good on you Ryan, welcome to the side where people using their minds, along with logic, facts and reason is not a VERBOTEN thing…
