New York City Mayor, Zohran Mamdani has big pockets with other people’s money. Just yesterday, Mamdani revealed the city’s preliminary budget. Hold onto your hats, ladies and gents…
Zohran Mamdani announced a record $127 billion budget proposal. That number is up $11 billion more than last year’s budget.
In the same breath seemingly, Mamdani claimed that he would be “forced” to hit the pocketbooks of everyday New Yorkers if Governor Kathy Hochul and Albany didn’t comply with his push to raise income taxes on the wealthy.
I do not want to raise property taxes.
When faced with this crisis, the question is who should pay these taxes? I believe that it should be the wealthiest New Yorkers, the most profitable corporations. I believe that they can afford to pay a little bit more.”-Zohran Mamdani
Err, yes. Yes, you do want to raise property taxes.
Mamdani’s budget isn’t a surprise—it’s a confession. He blew a $12B deficit blaming Adams, then threatened homeowners with a 9.5% tax hike while Hochul bailed him out with $1.5B. Adams kept the city solvent. Mamdani torched it.
His “affordability” lie? A $127B budget fueled by…

The 9.5 percent property tax increase, which would impact about 3 million residential units and 100,000 commercial properties. It’s his “last resort”, or something.
Our property tax system is profoundly unfair and inconsistent, and an across-the-board increase in this tax would be regressive.”-City Comptroller. Mark Levine
Here are examples of what property taxes would look like in New York City if Mamdani gets his way:
The owner of a single-family home in Park Slope with a market value of around $3.2 million, and assessed by the city at $44,000, would pay around $9,500 in yearly property taxes, up from roughly $8,700 currently.
A condominium unit on the Upper West Side currently assessed at $120,000, would go from paying $14,926 to $16,345 in annual property tax.”-The New York Post
Did we hear Park Slope in there? Yep, sure did. The same Park Slope peeps who went trick-or-treating with Zohran Mamdani will pay more in taxes next year thanks to their socialist savior. No treats here. They have been tricked. But, in all honesty, this is what Karma looks like.
There has already been an exodus to Florida. But more will be leaving, that is for certain. God Bless Texas:
New York City’s top combined marginal corporate income tax rate — which includes other levies such as an MTA corporate surcharge — would rise from 17.44% to 22.48%, if Gov. Kathy Hochul and the legislature approve a hike.
Texas, meanwhile, has no corporate or state income tax and imposes only a modest 0.75 franchise tax.
Courts in the Lone Star State are also more friendly to business interests, compared to litigation-happy New York, and it’s easier to incorporate and open firms there, the report noted.”–Partnership for the City of New York
Free buses. Free grocery stores. Free everything. Handouts are fun. They are the warm, fuzzy embrace of collectivism!
But wait a minute as they muse. “Why, oh why, is my property tax so high?”

Oh, New York. You were once a great city! Someone tell the “white supremacists” who own their homes there that they are about to get screwed without first being kissed. Pfft. They’re all on stolen land, anyway. (Snicker)
An existing $7 billion-dollar deficit and this chump thinks draining the monetary reserves is a good idea. Sounds like a sound economic plan to me. What do you say, Park Slope? You guys on-board with this plan? You okay if your landlord raises the rent now? How much is that Mamdani friendship bracelet you made at a Mamdani campaign craft night really going to cost you? And, you thought paying 13 bucks for a beer at the Mamdani victory party was insanity! Hold my beer…

Thomas Jefferson said, once upon a time, “The government you elect, is the government you deserve”.
He was not wrong. Some New Yorkers truly deserve the hell that is raining down upon them.

Watch closely…If Mamdani and Hochul continue their love affair and work in concert, the whole of New York State, not just NYC, will suffer.
