Netanyahu And The Hamas Stand-off, U.S. Keep Out

Now that we have all survived the Eclipse Apocalypse…it was a rain-soaked, cloud-covered nothing burger in East Tennessee so I ate a Moon Pie and got on with my life…we will return to our regularly scheduled programming of tensions in the Middle East. Last night, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made it known that he has a set date for the invasion of Rafah, while Hamas says they have no “ability” to release the last of the living hostages, only 40 of them. The U.S., I am looking at you, Antony Blinken, only makes matters worse and needs to keep its piehole shut.

Yesterday afternoon, our Deanna wrote that a ceasefire only rewards Hamas for all of their murder and mayhem. Truer words were never typed. While the Democrat Media Industrial Complex will have multiple cows over Netanyahu has a date to invade Hamas, they ought to be yowling over the fact that only 40 hostages are still alive. On October 7, 2023, Hamas took 253 hostages. They murdered 1200 living, breathing human beings. We don’t talk about what they did enough. Hamas has released 112 hostages. Hamas says they only have 40 hostages now. That math doesn’t work, but we have suspected this all along.

The New York Post writes:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu affirmed Monday that he plans to forge ahead with a long-anticipated and controversial military operation in the Gaza Strip city of Rafah — as Hamas reportedly claimed there are fewer than 40 women, elderly and ailing hostages who it can account for.

In a video message posted to X, Netanyahu — who has come under increasing domestic criticism over his handling of the six-month-old war against the terror group — told Israelis that “complete victory” over the jihadists “requires entry into Rafah and the elimination of the terrorist battalions there.”

“It will happen, there is a date,” the 74-year-old added without giving further specifics.

Not that I understood a word of the Hebrew. More from the NY Post:

Meanwhile, truce talks involving Israeli and Hamas officials in Cairo were ongoing after CIA Director Bill Burns proposed over the weekend that Hamas submit a list of 40 Israeli hostages who are alive and can be released on humanitarian grounds — meaning women, female Israel Defense Forces soldiers, men over 50, and those with serious medical conditions — in exchange for a six-week cease-fire, according to Axios.

On Monday, however, Israel’s Channel 12 news reported that Hamas was trying to negotiate the release of fewer hostages on the grounds it had “no ability to release 40” abductees who fit the initial request by Israeli negotiators.

First, I wouldn’t trust the CIA Director anywhere, anytime. Why is he negotiating? Isn’t that a State Department thing? And this:

The lack of progress in talks raises new questions about exactly how many of those abducted by Hamas in its Oct. 7 attack on southern Israel are left alive.

Terrorists captured approximately 240 people from 29 nations during and after the attack, which killed an estimated 1,200 people, including 33 Americans.

As of late March, 129 Oct. 7 hostages are still believed to be in Gaza, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing Israeli officials.

Of that number, at least 34 and as many as 50 are believed to have died in captivity.

The captivity figure includes 19 women, 10 people over the age of 75, and two children.

And, no one gives a fig about the five American hostages. Are they still alive? While the Democrat Media Industrial Complex is wearing themselves out over whether Gaza is getting supplies, they cannot be bothered over hostages.

The Shadow Home Affairs and Cyber Security Minister for Australia squarely blames Hamas, rightly, for the civilian casualties. However, he does accept the death toll numbers from Hamas. At least the Minister knows that he is not a military operations expert:

The last thing the Hamas leadership wants is a “ceasefire”.

Meanwhile, the Hamas Caucus has had great success in the United States. Chanting to bomb Tel Aviv:

While the people of Tel Aviv are protesting against the Netanyahu government:

God help us all.

And this is exactly what the neo-whatevers love to call “isolationism.” Where in here is “isolation”? It’s saying “That’s their country and their war, so just stay out of it.”

It’s only when you live out the Progressive creed that you develop this need to tell everyone else what to do. And THIS is what us “isolationists” have been on about for a few decades. (I would say a couple of centuries, but I wasn’t around when James Monroe wrote his doctrine.) It isn’t your business, so butt out.

Now, if they as an ally (and that word should really require more substantial agreements than we currently have almost anywhere) request our help, then we should figure out if it’s the right thing to do or not and act. (If NATO pulls Ukraine in after the fact, and then tries to go to war with Russia because “Article V!” then we should say, “Nah, you did this to yourself, bro.”)

Unless your desire is American Empire, you really should embrace the “Not my circus, not my monkeys” principle. And I don’t want to hear a da** word about “patriarchy” or “supremacy” if that’s your goal.

Also, we need to get our own house in order before trying to straighten out anyone else. Which means we need to drive out all the Progressives and return to true morals and right thinking. Let’s exterminate the termites* here before we go telling someone else their house looks funny.

(* That is NOT an anti-semitic reference. It’s merely an analogy.)

And all of that is long before we get to any morality about what Israel is doing.
