Military And Intelligence Community – You Must Refuse Illegal Orders

Six Democrats have posted an advertisement advising military and intelligence personnel that they can/must refuse an unlawful order. That is a fact. The six are Senator Elissa Slotkin, Senator Mark Kelly and Congress-swine Maggie Goodlander, Chrissy Houlahan, Jason Crow and Chris Deluzio. These six single cell organisms are blessed that they have unbearable unearned privilege. While the ad is true, what the piffling anthropoids imply is that President Donald Trump may be issuing questionable orders. TDS is a painful condition.

I am so mad I could spit. You may not have seen the advertisement. In this video from the New York Post, the ad plays twice. Watch it full through to get the whole picture.

After they announce their credentials, giving credence to their authority, the Senate Speedbumps and Congress-swine tell us that they know members of the intelligence and military communities are under high stress and pressure because this administration is making it us versus them. It’s Trump’s fault. Whine. “Don’t give up the ship”. Hey boos, your ship is foundering.

If the Insurrection-y Six are talking to the Joes, they have been assured by their leadership that their orders are legal. To disobey or not follow an order might lead to an Article 15 or Article 92. At the very least, a member would get a letter of reprimand in her file. Most Joes don’t have a military defense attorney on speed dial.

Newsweek filed this article about the “Don’t give up the ship” ad:

President Donald Trump has faced criticism for sending the National Guard to cities like Chicago and Portland, Oregon, as well as for his campaign targeting alleged narcoterrorists in the Caribbean.

The lawmakers in the video have introduced legislation to limit Trump’s ability to deploy the National Guard domestically or launch military action without congressional approval, called the No Troops in Our Streets Act.

While the video does not directly refer to the legislation or Trump, its call for public servants to refuse orders that break the law highlights partisan divisions, and the clip has been criticized by conservatives as an appeal to defy the president and Hegseth.

More:

Hegseth responded to the lawmakers’ video, posted on X by the conservative account Libs of TikTok, with “Stage 4 TDS,” referring to the phrase “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

This X post is long but it is very clear.

This ad is at the very least a desperate plea for camera time. Mark Kelly and Elissa Slotkin are camera queens. Mark Kelly is also not the brightest bulb. Don’t even get me started on Reprehensible Jason Crow. How can you be a member of the 75th Ranger Regiment and a Trump Impeachment Manager? It’s a head scratcher. Kelly, Slotkin and Crow just want some ego stroking from their fellow Liberals. This will give them a temporary jolt of the feel goods.

For our service members, this is a no bueno position. All of their orders are assumed to be lawful. They don’t have time or access to a military lawyer to second guess. They don’t want an Article 92:

This Article is intended to explain unlawful orders in the Military.

A Servicemember can face adverse action for violating a lawful order; doing so is a violation of Article 92 of the UCMJ, and sometimes Article 90 of the UCMJ and Article 91 of the UCMJ. Often, Servicemembers wonder what are lawful orders and what are unlawful orders. Article 92 provides the following guidance regarding unlawful orders:

“Lawfulness. A general order or regulation is lawful unless it is contrary to the Constitution, the laws of the United States, or lawful superior orders or for some other reason is beyond the authority of the official issuing it.”

The article from The Law Office of Matthew Barry goes on and is an excellent resource.

I called those behind the advertisement the Insurrection-y Six because I don’t believe this is at all insurrection or sedition. I don’t believe that they are giving full-throated approval to either. I think they are trying to intimidate the general public who knows nothing about obeying orders. Slotkin et al. believe we are stupid and that we know that we need our elite betters to guide us.

All in all this was another “fail”. Typical. All they have is consultants and consultants with bad ideas. Try and fail again.

I don’t recall any of these people, or any Dem in Congress or any of the Intelligence Agencies or within DoD (now DoW) raising any questions about the legality of Pres. Obama’s order to use a drone to make a missile strike to kill an American citizen and his American citizen child in a foreign country without any judicial review or other due process because the Obama WH had determined that that American citizen was a member of a terrorist organization. The order was carried out.

Why are the standards different now?.
