Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is one unique cookie.  I vacillate between rolling my eyeballs at her rhetoric and raising my fists in solidarity.  I’ll take 100 MTG’s for every John Cornyn every single day.  Full Stop.  Today is one of those days I wished I still lived in Atlanta so I could claim her for my own.   As The Post Millennial writes, MTG is taking on gender dysphoric children head on.  She’s proposed federal legislation to ban the gender transitioning of minors. 

As a non-parent, I sometimes wonder why all the parent issues bother me so much.  It’s not like I have an immediate dog in this hunt, but I see today’s fight over the normalization of body dysmorphia as a complicated human rights fight, not as a cultural war.

“Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA) is taking aim at the trans craze sweeping the nation with a new bill that seeks to criminalize the medicalized gender transition of minors. The Protect Children’s Innocence Act would outright ban and prohibit all so-called “gender affirmative” care for minors in US and offer civil protections to any minor upon whom these procedures were done.”

“Gender affirmative” care.  Like WTF are you even talking about?  Are we to call supporting bulimia or anorexia “weight affirmative” care?  Oh wait (see what I did there??) yes, there is a whole cult of folks who support obesity and emaciation as normal.  Joseph Mengele is smiling from below.

What people don’t seem to understand, is that “gender affirming care” is chopping our children to pieces.  A couple of breasts here, a penis or two there.  They are gone!  Hormone therapy has a host of risks that are unspeakable.  We are treating our children like lab rats.  

So yes, I’m sure there will be “weight affirmative” care, just around the corner.  But today’s body dysphoric fight is over the trans-ing of our kids and MTG is putting up where other GOP members just shut up.

I hope we will be able to see this failing legislation as a way to sort out our politicians for what they are.  Will our politicians stand as protectors of our children and societal norms or will they capitulate to the WOKE mob and remain mum on the subject?

Greene provided the legislation exclusively to The Post Millennial. The bill is co-sponsored by Mary Miller (IL), Jeff Duncan (SC), Bob Good (VA), Matt Gaetz (FL), and Ralph Norman (SC) and Tony Gonzalez (TX). Of those in the GOP who do not back the bill, or who acquiesce to the medical gender transition of minors, Greene says they are “worthless.” In June, some GOP lawmakers broached the Protecting Minors from Medical Malpractice Act, so that minors could sue those doctors that harmed them through “gender affirmative care.”

I can only assume John Cornyn will abstain or prance around the subject if cornered.  God forbid he find his balls, ever.

I’m about as girly a girl as you will ever meet.  There’s not a frilly dress I don’t like.  I am the middle-class Imelda Marcos of shoe buyers.  It’s obscene how many pairs of sandles and heels I own.  Yet there was a year or two in high school that my mom openly wondered if I was gay or wanted to be a boy.  In my self-discovery phase, I ran the gamut of dressing like Madonna to Boy George. 

For awhile, I wore my dad’s military dress jacket, fun silk ties, and a pea-green wool overcoat my dad bought in the 60s.  It dwarfed me then and it dwarfs me now.  I wear that coat to this day.  But back then, I’m sure some teacher or doctor would have LOVED to shoot me full of drugs in the name of “science.”  I had body dysmorphia all right, just not THAT kind.  I thought I was fat when I was a healthy weight.  

How scary is that?  One small moment in my life of living out pop-culture and I might have been led down a road I couldn’t come back from.  And my teen phase in the 80s is beyond common among young women.

I have another woman in my life who called me in tears a few years ago.  Her daughter expressed some concern that she might be gay.  As a cultural and religious conservative, this woman looked to me to offer comfort given my cultural liberalism.   My best friend of many, many years was gay and she needed to know that her daughter could live a wonderful life, if in fact, she really was gay.

I stand by response to her: “Hon, maybe your daughter is gay, maybe she’s not.  Either way, you will love her, right?  You and I both believe God loves all of us, and creates us perfectly, right?  Then relax; most likely this is just a phase.  It’s all the rage these days to be anything but straight and your daughter is likely confused as hell.  She might have a girl crush, she might see beautiful young bodies in the locker room and confuse appreciation for lust.  Who knows.  Just let it ride and see what comes.”

Six months later and her daughter had moved on from “being gay” to having a boyfriend.  There wasn’t any body dysmorphia going on in her daughter’s head, just a phase that needn’t be indulged one way or another.  But today’s activists cannot let that stand.  It’s our job to fight them, and Marjorie Taylor Greene is taking on the wokenistas who want to rob our children of a normal right of passage and use them as political pawns.

“The bill comes as Boston Children’s Hospital, among others, has been blasted by a concerned parents, pundits and politicians who became aware that the hospital was performing double mastectomies on healthy girls beginning at age 15 as a means to treat “gender dysphoria,” and vaginoplasties on young men starting at the age of 17. After this information was made public, backlash was swift, the hospital took down its videos.”

WATCH as the medical harms of hormonal and surgical interventions for gender dysphoric children are discussed at length.  It’s WELL worth the time to view and share with all the Karens in your life.  If we, as conservatives, aren’t making a bigger deal out of this with our friends and politicians, we are no better than the others who sit on the sidelines of this debate. This, this is the Roe v. Wade of our lifetime.

“When I was a junior in high school in 1990-91 we had a student in choir that everyone believed was a male.. even our teacher. We had a councilor come to our class one day and they talked to us about this student.

Apparently, this student was actually a female and had been through some very traumatic events that had left her believing that the only way to survive without being harmed was by being a male. They were asking us that since we are a close group of friends if we could start acknowledging her as a female to help her accept being a natural female and realize it’s okay to be female.

I’m pretty sure if that was to happen today they would be setting her up for gender reassignment instead of helping her get over her trauma and accepting who she is.”

As our own Lisa Carr wrote, just a few months ago, the trend of “trans” kids is alarming to say the least.  

“From cable TV to Netflix, to The Matrix, to former Disney child stars like Demi Lovato, unabashedly telling her fans to “be slutty, get naked and get kinky”, to child drag queens “doing ketamine on couches“, (so Amazing…give the mom of this boy a pat on the back), transgenderism has taken center stage in current trends of “what’s cool” within the circles of our young people.”

I have another dear friend who’s adult son has “come out” as trans.  She’s a conservative, like me, and she has grieved over the loss of “losing a son” to having “a second daughter”.  She gave up on saving him.  I say “saving him” as I tried, as gently as I could, to ask if she would be enabling such confusion if he had any other mental health issue.  Unsurprisingly, she became defensive.  She’s a parent after all and she just wants a happy child.

It makes me sad for her and her son.  I’m sad not because I think trans folk in Austin will have a hard time of it.  In truth, he will find community here.  But I have known for years that he has been lost in many ways.  And the fact that he will find community in his mental disorder is exactly why this one will take hold of him far longer than the others.  Maybe a lifetime.  But because he’s a grown ass adult, he is free to be misled by his gender dysphoric ideations.  Just keep that crap from our kids.  It’s inhumane.
