Zohran Mamdani took some PR hits to his mayoral image last week. But to those of us who were paying attention during the election, none of this was a surprise.
The smarmy snake oil salesman with the permanent grin has spent the last week on the defensive, after several own goals committed by both himself and his wife. It was just over a week ago that Mamdani tried to claim that his wife, the snotty Rama Duwaji, was not a “public figure” after her social media history of liking certain pro-Hamas posts after October 7th came to light. For the record, Rama Duwaji is at least a public figure on par with, say, Martha Alito, and the media lost their freaking minds over a flag at her house.
Then Mamdani decried all the “Islamophobia” that happened right in front of Gracie Mansion while ignoring that an actual IED was thrown, and then had to admit that those wannabe bombers were pledging themselves to ISIS.
Hizzoner probably thought that he was sticking it to the Trump administration by having Columbia agitator and Hamas fanboy Mahmoud Khalil over for dinner, and tweeting about it. He definitely was not prepared to be questioned about his decision to have Khalil over, and attempted to make this a free speech argument rather than addressing the obvious anti-Semitism involved.
Mamdani is also all for public displays of religion on city property – so long as it is HIS religion being displayed.
I thought leftists were all about the separation of church and state?
I mean it’s just wild to watch the ideology that’s spent the last 50 years waging a legal war to push Christianity out of every corner of public life to embrace official religious displays like this.

But there was barely any time to absorb all of this performative devotion being done by Mamdani before the ugly reality of terrorism struck yet again, in both Virginia and in Michigan. And of course, because Mayor Mamdani believes that he is some kind of national thought leader, he had to offer comment on these attacks – particularly the one in Michigan.
The attack on Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan is horrifying. My thoughts are with the congregation and all who are shaken by this act of antisemitic violence. I am continuing to closely monitor the situation. Out of an abundance of caution, the NYPD will continue to…

The reaction was… not good. Especially considering that Mamdani has consistently refused to condemn those who proclaim that they want to “globalize the intifada” and had Mahmoud Khalil – who supported the same at Columbia University – over for dinner.
And then Mamdani was forced to defend his wife AGAIN. Rama sure does have some interesting friends and associations!
Duwaji, wife of Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D., N.Y.), provided a drawing for “A Trail of Soap,” an essay in the collection Every Moment is a Life compiled by Susan Abulhawa. The essay, published last month in Everything Is Political—an offshoot of self-described “environmental & social justice nonprofit organization” Slow Factory—details a Gazan woman’s attempt to find a bathroom in the territory.
Abulhawa, an author and anti-Israel activist, has a long history of supporting terror and demonizing Jews. Just days after Oct. 7, she wrote an op-ed in Electronic Intifada in which she called the massacres “a spectacular moment that shocked the world” and insinuated that Israel allowed the attack to happen.
Abulhawa has spent the years since Oct. 7 offering thinly veiled attacks against Israelis, “Zionists,” and “Jewish supremacists” on social media.
She wrote in one December post on X that Israelis are “rootless, soulless ghouls” and in September called Israel a “cultureless, rootless human aberration in the form of a manufactured ‘nation,'” adding that “we live in the time of jewish supremacist demons.”
This was apparently not a headache that Mamdani’s team wanted to deal with.
A spokeswoman for Mamdani said in a statement provided to the Washington Free Beacon that Duwaji does not have a relationship with Abulhawa.
“As is common for freelance illustrators, the First Lady was commissioned to illustrate an excerpt of Abulhawa’s book by an outside publisher,” the spokeswoman said. “She has never engaged with or met Susan Abulhawa, nor had she seen the tweets in question.”
Well, Susan Abulhawa is now pissed off at Mamdani for not supporting her – and is calling him out.
A searing yet graceful response to an act of political cowardice. This is real leadership. https://t.co/saep8jlCJw

So, no one is particularly happy with Zohran Mamdani right now. At all. The terrorist left is furious because he is paying lip service to the Jewish community and trying to politically cover for his wife, and everyone else with a modicum of common sense is mad because we KNOW that this is all lip service to save his political butt. So what will Mamdani do now? Bring in some leaders from the Jewish community for a quick photo op! And yes, it apparently will be QUICK.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani plans to meet with some Jewish leaders Monday amid concerns he and his wife have been hostile to worries about anti-Israel rhetoric — but critics say it’s nothing more than a “photo op.’’
The sit-down is expected to cater mainly to Orthodox Jewish community leaders, including at least one who endorsed Mamdani for mayor, as opposed to mainstream Jewish advocacy groups — and last just 15 to 20 minutes, disgusted sources said.
One Jewish leader declined to attend the session after learning the Muslim mayor would only briefly be there, calling it an “insult” and a “photo-op,” according to a source briefed on the meeting.
Cool, Mamdani can give Jewish leaders 15 to 20 minutes, get a few photos of himself with them, and call it a day. And then, when the next anti-Semitic story about himself or his wife comes up, he can wave these photos around, proclaiming himself the mayor of all New Yorkers.
This guy has been mayor of New York City for just over three months. It’s hard to even imagine what the rest of his four year term is going to end up looking like at this rate. We warned you, New York City. Are you having fun yet?
