LaMonica McIver Charged In Delaney Hall Detainee Riot

It’s a start. A very, very small start. The acting U.S. Attorney for New Jersey, the radiant and smart Alina Habba, has announced that Congresswoman LaMonica McIver will be charged with assaulting, impeding and interfering with law enforcement after the violent riot outside of the Delaney Hall Detention Facility. It appears the other miscreants seen in the video will not be charged.

I am not a big fan of the State of New Jersey. That being said I believe that most citizens of that State are law-abiding, hard-working United States citizens. It’s just a guess. Most of them, I suspect would rather not be overrun by criminal, illegal aliens. Here is what our Deanna wrote about the dustup at Delaney Hall:

Absolutely nothing says “I care about my constituents” like rushing to defend illegal alien criminals. On Friday, three U.S. representatives, plus the mayor of Newark, showed up at the Delaney Hall ICE detention facility located in Newark, New Jersey. Apparently, the mayor, Ras Baraka, has been actively opposed to the opening of the facility (which just opened up this last Tuesday). When a bus entered the gates of the facility on Friday, Baraka and the three representatives rushed inside. The three congressional members – Robert Menendez Jr., LaMonica McIver, and Bonnie Watson Coleman, all Democrats from New Jersey – claimed that they were there in order to conduct “oversight” of the federal facility, even though DHS says they had not arranged any kind of tour beforehand – and assaulted ICE agents during their little bum rush.

In the video below, McIver may not be technically body slamming anyone, she is throwing hands all over the place, using her elbows and all of her body weight. She interacts with several ICE agents who try to calm her down. She claims that “you can’t put your hands on a Congresswoman”. Yikes. That’s not true. Finally, she yells that she is going to file a complaint. Good luck with that. Here’s the video:

I guess the fine folks of New Jersey’s 10th get the representation they deserve. According to MSNBC, that was simply a visit:

Democratic Rep. LaMonica McIver charged after visiting ICE facility in New Jersey
After the Trump administration charged a sitting judge and a sitting mayor in separate cases, a Democratic member of Congress has joined the list.

In recent weeks, the Trump administration has arrested a sitting judge and a sitting mayor, leaving many to wonder whether a member of Congress might soon join the list. Wonder no more.

The acting U.S. attorney for the District of New Jersey, Alina Habba, announced on Monday that her office was charging Rep. LaMonica McIver, D-N.J., with “assaulting, impeding and interfering with law enforcement.”

It was just a simple, little old visit. More:

The basic elements of the story are straightforward. Earlier this month, a group of Democratic officials, including three members of Congress, visited Delaney Hall, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility in New Jersey. The point, according to the lawmakers, was to conduct oversight, which is a core congressional responsibility.

Things did not go well, however, at Delaney Hall. There was a chaotic scene involving protesters, lawmakers and Trump administration agents, culminating in Ras Baraka, the Democratic mayor of New Jersey’s Newark, getting arrested and being charged with trespassing.

The Washington Examiner took a more balanced approach to their reporting:

A federal prosecutor on Monday charged Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) with assaulting federal law enforcement during a protest at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility earlier this month. The prosecutor simultaneously dropped a trespassing charge against Newark Mayor Ras Baraka stemming from the same incident.

In a statement, U.S. Attorney Alina Habba for the District of New Jersey said her office decided not to prosecute Baraka “for the sake of moving forward,” but would move ahead with charges against McIver under Title 18, U.S. Code Section 111, which criminalizes assaulting or impeding federal officers. Habba said she attempted to resolve the matter with McIver without charges, but the congresswoman declined.

“I take my obligations as U.S. Attorney seriously,” Habba said. “No one is above the law — politicians or otherwise. It is the job of this office to uphold justice impartially, regardless of who you are.”

Yes, this part lets us all know the game that LaMonica McIver and Leader Hakeem Jeffries are playing.

Newark Mayor Ras Baraka wants to be the New Jersey Governor so he made nice with Alina Habba. No charges and he gets invited back for a personal tour. Mission Accomplished.

LaMonica McIver is dripping attitude and wouldn’t make nice and she got charges. Her statement:

This could get fun. Stay tuned. We may need a lot of popcorn and BUTTER.

I am at a loss to explain how black politicians like LaMonica McIver could so ferociously defend the “rights” of illegal aliens who pose a substantial threat to her constituents’ economic security and physical safety.
