The political dominance, and social fad, of the TQ+ demographic has led many of them to arrogantly assume what they’ve achieved through bullying can never be changed. Reject the Queering of America? OHNOES, activists cry, The Statue of Liberty now means nothing! Nothing!

until last year, the Pride flag flew over U.S. embassies during June, to let the desperate souls fleeing persecution know that they would find comfort in the arms of the Mother of Exiles. Now that is no longer true — not because of a strategic foreign policy decision but because some members of Congress — like Johnson — simply don’t like queer people. Strange behavior from a political party that claims it doesn’t like identity politics.

Columnist LZ Anderson uses Emma Lazarus’ poetic description of Lady Liberty, but the symbolism of the statue wasn’t set by Lazarus. However, projection on national symbols of one’s own personal politics is pretty much SOP on the portside of the aisle, so LZ’s lament isn’t unusual.

And like all Queer advocates, LZ maintains that there is no legitimate dissent to their policies – from the mutilation of children (many of them gay) to flying a Leftwing political flag over US Government buildings – opposition isn’t really opposition, it’s just LGBTQQAyaddayaddayaddah hatey-hate.

This is identity politics at its most toxic. “I’m Queer, so you’re not allowed to question my demands or behaviors.” LZ really wants to sell the “Pride Flag” (by the way, he doesn’t specify which one of the dozens) as some sort of multi-colored batperson signal to the world’s queer. Forget that the national flag represents the whole nation, our Federal government is to take a political position on an ideology whose policies and behaviors have made TQ+ dangerous for women and children.

Even “Pride celebrations” are unfit for normies and their families.

This isn’t LZ’s first broke-back rodeo. He’s pretty clear that any objection to mediocre male athletes using female sports as a Plan B is just icky Republican politics.

No wonder LZ’s confusion about Lady Liberty … he thinks Liberty is just another way of saying libertine.

Makes you wonder what he has in hidden files on his hard drive, eh?

Snarking aside, it’s no accident that Leftists rewrite the symbolism of the Statue of Liberty to fit their open borders, no-one-is-illegal agenda. The fact remains that from her inception to her dedication, the torch she holds up is not a signal for invasion, but an outward light to shine across the world so those who seek real liberty – and all the obligations and duties that come with it – are enlightened and encouraged to develop it where they live.

We will not forget that Liberty has here made her home, nor shall her chosen altar be neglected. Willing votaries will constantly keep alive its fires and these shall gleam upon the shores of our sister Republic thence, and joined with answering rays a stream of light shall pierce the darkness of ignorance and man’s oppression, until Liberty enlightens the world.”

Taking down the rainbow swastika from American government buildings was a good start. Reclaiming our national symbols from self-centered, partisan reinterpretations as exemplified by LZ needs to happen faster.
