Happy President’s Day to my Fellow Americans. As we celebrate the 250 years of our country, we adults realize we have had some great Presidents, some mid Presidents and some utterly evil and shite Presidents. We adults don’t root for or against our country depending on who they President is unless we are modern Democrats. We are not. This is why an article by Shawn Fleetwood “Rooting Against Anti-American Olympians Is The Patriotic Thing To Do” made my patriotic heart hurt.
We have been treated to brain derps from American athletes since the 2026 Winter Olympics began in Milano/Cortina. We have even had Lib Buzzword Bingo from Turning Point USA:

Okay, that might make you want to agree with Shawn Fleetwood and root against the anti-American athletes. But, don’t. From his article:
Getting the opportunity to represent one’s country in the Olympics is an incredible honor for any athlete. Sadly, some of this year’s American competitors don’t seem to fully appreciate that point.
Throughout the first week of the 2026 Winter Olympics, several U.S. athletes have happily taken the bait from left-wing “journalists” seeking to get these Americans to trash their nation — and President Trump — on the world stage. Many of the comments thus far have specifically been focused on ICE and its efforts to deport foreign nationals illegally residing in the United States.
Team USA skiers Hunter Hess and Chris Lillis kicked off the performative struggle session during a pre-Olympics press conference. The athletes effectively wagged their fingers at the ICE agents under relentless siege by violent leftist agitators and talked about how “hard” it is to watch federal law be enforced as they play games at an event surrounded by maximum security.
Whine. It’s so hard. Whine more. Spoiled athletes. Angry because someone didn’t give them enough love. Or, enough ice time.
I am an old-fashioned girl. Even when I think my country and its leaders are wrong, I still love it. Every year I buy the White House Historical Society ornaments, even when I intensely dislike the President, like Biden and Obama. I still root for my country to win when I don’t like or despise athletes. I don’t cheer on the creeptacular athletes, just my country.
Don’t drag your country when you are outside of its borders AND find someone from your country you can cheer for. We have soldiers competing in the Olympics. Cheer for them. Don’t cheer for pay-for-play Eileen Gu either.
Here is more from Mr. Fleetwood’s article:
Everyone is entitled to have his own views — no matter how ill-informed he may be — and no one is required to agree with every action their government takes.
But there’s a certain level of repulsiveness that comes with bashing one’s own country while on foreign soil in front of the entire world. That’s especially true for athletes who are being given the opportunity of a lifetime that is rarely afforded to others.

Allowing one’s love for America and its greatness to be dictated by its political leadership and government actions is flat out unpatriotic. One can disagree with the decisions of its leaders and still recognize the United States as the greatest country in the world, with an incredibly rich heritage and people.
Amen. Chris Lillis and Hunter Hess may get their woke cred but they won’t get ad revenue. You can’t eat woke cred. When you finish being an athlete, you still need to eat. You don’t get a big payday for representing your country in the Olympics.
As this video explains, Norway pays you bupkis for getting a medal. All you get is the pride for representing your country. You do it because you love your country.
Maybe if they weren’t such spoiled athletes, the current Olympians would learn this:
🚨Hunter Hess, Chris Lillis, Amber Glenn – listen and learn:
"When you pull on that jersey, you represent yourself and your teammates – and the name on the front is a hell of a lot more important than the one on the back! Get that through your head‼️"

Don’t root against Olympic athletes from the USA, just ignore them. It is not patriotic to root against them. That diminishes you. Don’t do that. Don’t root for them and, for pity sakes, don’t buy any products they endorse. Go USA!
