Daily Caller has a triple threat up today regarding IRS incompetence and misconduct. Turns out that while the tax trolls were busy illegally hassling the Tea Party and other conservative groups, they were simultaneously losing almost $4 billion to identity thieves. That’s not counting the $4.2 billion to illegals. What’s even better, the Treasury Inspector found in his investigation, is that “1.1 million fraudulent tax returns were filed with clearly fabricated Social Security numbers that IRS could have detected, costing taxpayers $3.6 billion in 2011.” What really made me feel humanitarian was finding out that the IRS “sent 343 tax refunds to a single address in Shanghai, and another 655 tax refunds to one in Lithuania.” But they’ll be handling Obamacare?
Oh, and did I mention that they’re also looking at new regulations to stop unions and Chambers of Commerce from engaging in “candidate-related activity”? What exactly is that? Because I’m all about unions getting smacked around for campaigning for political candidates, but I’m also pretty sure that Rielle Hunter engaged in some kind of candidate related activity with a certain John Edwards. Now that I think about it, so did Larry Sinclair, in a bath house in Chicago…but I digress.
Wouldn’t it be an amazing thing if the IRS actually did its job? Or better yet, just didn’t exist at all?
