Senator John Cornyn of Texas isn’t retiring from the Senate, but he faces a Republican Primary AND, more interestingly, there is a Democrat Primary. Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett and newbie James Talarico are vying to see who will be his challenger. The question isn’t if the Democrat Primary will get UGLY but how soon and just how ugly? Victory Girls is here for it all with a bucket of popcorn and a gallon of Soda. We are going to need more straws.

I have a bad taste about Cornyn, but I wasn’t sure why. I also have questions about Attorney General Ken Paxton. Paxton is getting divorced. Not surprising. Cornyn is 75 and would be 81+ by the end of a new Senate term. We need fresh thinking in elected office. Not necessarily young, but fresh. John Cornyn is many things but not fresh.

Let us focus now on Jasmine Crockett and James Talarico. The Hill had a post yesterday titled “Texas primary between Crockett, Talarico turns ugly”. Have these people seen Jasmine Crockett or how ugly she can get:

The most notable incident came this week when former Rep. Colin Allred (D-Texas), the Democratic nominee for Senate last cycle, ripped state Rep. James Talarico (D) for allegedly calling him a “mediocre Black man.” Talarico said the allegation was a mischaracterization and that he had referred to Allred’s method of campaigning as mediocre, not Allred personally.

Crockett, a Black former Texas state lawmaker and civil rights attorney currently serving in the House, is seen by some as a controversial Senate candidate, given some of her online and viral exchanges, including referring to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R), who is in a wheelchair, as “hot wheels,” and former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) as having a “bleach-blonde, bad-built butch body.”

I am not an MTG fan at all, but this was not a dressing down. It came from the shallow depths of an even more shallow mind.

Let us discuss Miss Crockett’s opponent in the Texas Democrat Primary, James Talarico. He has a graduate degree in education from Harvard and is a Presbyterian Theological student. He is in the Texas House of Representatives.

Now, he is on The View and running for the U.S. Senate. He doesn’t have a very Christian view of Christians.
