They say they had no choice but to shelve it because the major theaters had backed out of its release. And now they’re punching back at the Lecturer-in-Chief after he lamented during a press conference that he wished Sony had contacted him before pulling the now-infamous film, The Interview, from theaters following threats of terrorism from what we now know came from North Korea. Mr. Obama—whose own six-year history as the leader of the free world boasts a laundry lists of screw-ups, cover ups, and downright fraud—called Sony’s decision a “mistake.” Further, Mr. Obama, with a straight face and not a smidgen of irony, said this:

Indeed. He certainly wouldn’t want any competition.
In a statement to CNN, Sony CEO, Michael Lynton, offered this rebuke in response to Obama’s public finger wag:
“We have not caved. We have not given in. We have persevered, and we have not backed down. We have always had every desire to have the American public see this movie…We were taken by surprise by the theaters, which is what we wanted to do first. Now we’re trying to proceed and figure out what the next steps would be,” Lynton told CNN.
“I did reach out,” said Lynton, who said Sony indeed sought assistance from the President. “We definitely spoke to a senior advisor in the White House to talk about the situation. The White House was certainly aware of the situation.”
Well, welcome to the underside of Barack Obama’s bus and his Self Righteous Wagon, Mr. Lynton.
But Lynton wasn’t through. He had this to say in response to Mr. Obama, and alongside George Clooney’s failed attempt to rally cowardly Hollywood types to sign his petition in support of the First Amendment and in favor of releasing the film poste haste:
“Sony Pictures Entertainment is and always has been strongly committed to the First Amendment. For more than three weeks, despite brutal intrusions into our company and our employees’ personal lives, we maintained our focus on one goal: getting the film The Interview released. Free expression should never be suppressed by threats and extortion.
The decision not to move forward with the December 25 theatrical release of The Interview was made as a result of the majority of the nation’s theater owners choosing not to screen the film. This was their decision.
Let us be clear – the only decision that we have made with respect to release of the film was not to release it on Christmas Day in theaters, after the theater owners declined to show it. Without theaters, we could not release it in the theaters on Christmas Day. We had no choice.
After that decision, we immediately began actively surveying alternatives to enable us to release the movie on a different platform. It is still our hope that anyone who wants to see this movie will get the opportunity to do so.”
So it seems the film may yet see the light of day, even if not accompanied by over-priced popcorn in a room full of spineless Hollywood bigwigs who claim to love the First Amendment, but when push comes to shove won’t stand up to defend it. The words “True Colors” comes to mind.
“Lynton says Sony still wants The Interview to be seen and is considering their options. Those include DVD and Blu-ray home video, YouTube, VOD, and other digital platforms but “there has not been one major VOD distributor, one major e-commerce site that has stepped forward and said they are willing to distribute this movie for us,” he said.
My humble suggestion would be to preface the film, however it’s eventually released, with a Double Bird Salute Intro targeted squarely at the pudgy dude with the funny hair courtesy of The American Public.
As far as Mr. Obama and his fawning Hollywood groupies? My prediction: Sony, along with some of Hollywood’s now-exposed racist, sexist, and greedy Limousine Liberals—who were unceremoniously revealed by a Petite Despot, from a country the size of a sewing thimble, in some pretty embarrassing email exchanges these past few weeks—will be right back to smooching Obama’s backside in no time. After all, they’re some of his biggest campaign donors, er, best friends:

In fairness to Obama, James Franco and Joe Flacco have both had their share of fumbles

Even if he can’t quite remember their names.
Sony should have contacted Obozo before making a decision? I guess the fearless leader wants to micromanage EVERYTHING now.
But then again, dictators do tend to do that in order to maintain total control.
Exactly! Yes, Daddy Obama, I should have gotten permission to make a business decision, from the man with absolutely no experience running any DAMNED thing.
Oh I don’t know about that. He’s doing a fabulous job running the nation into the ground in every area possible. A being with such talent doesn’t come along that often (thank God).
