Greedy Elizabeth Warren and Affordability

Hypocrisy is a given for Our Betters on the Left. Multi-millionaire and Congresscritter Elizabeth Warren takes it to new levels by hopping Zohran Mamdani’s Socialist party bus, yelling “eat the rich!”, and proposing Bigger Government to solve “affordability”.

It’s do as I say, not as I do, for Fauxahontas.

Warren and Sanders are, in many ways, the godparents of the self-avowed Democratic Socialists such as Mamdani and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., who are providing the youthful energy for the Democrats in the Trump era.

As Warren’s attacks on Wall Street and the wealthy are gaining even wider traction among liberals — a recent Gallup poll found 66 percent of Democrats have a positive view of socialism — the apparent contradictions between her public economic positions and private financial decisions are receiving new scrutiny, particularly as the one-time presidential candidate appears to be testing those waters again.

Let’s recall how Warren couldn’t wait to leap into the arms of Mamdani and declare him the voice of the New Soviet Democrat Man.

Warren’s stumbling over “we’re going to experiment on groceries” was quite the tell. While fully behind “government-owned grocery stores”, Warren isn’t that stupid to have forgotten how well that worked out in the Soviet Union.

In addition to the poor assortment, there was always a stench in the stores. “The degree and type could vary from store to store, but something always stank,” said Maksym Mirovych.

According to him, low-quality Soviet refrigerators often broke down. Because of this, the food started to spoil and stink, but no one was in a hurry to clean it up. (snip)

In the USSR, there was no market competition, so manufacturers had no incentive to produce a variety of quality goods or to keep stores clean and tidy.

Now Warren likes to shake her fist and breathlessly rail against American “monopolies” like Amazon and Apple, but she is right there with Zohran about Government monopolies on grocery stores, housing and childcare.

Not her first go-around the for me, not thee political stance …

Poor kid from OK has parlayed her fake Native heritage and Congressional career into a nice life.

She and her husband, Bruce Mann, both longtime law professors, hold much of their wealth in retirement accounts. Their TIAA and CREF accounts—available to educators and nonprofit employees—are worth at least $4 million. They also own two homes: a $3 million Victorian in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and an $800,000 condo in Washington, D.C.

You’ll be shocked, I’m sure, to learn that this tireless champion of seizing the property of the Kulaks for redistribution to The Poor, doesn’t even live by her own principles.

Warren tirelessly bashes the “selfish” and “greedy” rich for not paying their “fair share,” and demands the government step in and redistribute their income to the poor. But charity does not always begin in the Warren home.

While Warren hauls in nearly $1 million a year, she donated less than 3 percent of her household income to charity in 2024, according to her tax returns.

Warren also lives in a very tony — and very restrictive — neighborhood in the Avon Hill section of Cambridge, MA. She doesn’t seem to be looking to move anytime soon or proposing that her mansion be subdivided into apartments, but she applauds Mamdani’s public housing plan that includes seizing private property in New York City.

Haven’t we been through enough public housing disasters? Does “Cabrini Green of Chicago” ring any bells?

Yes, there’s a whole world of discussion to be had on affordability, but unrepentant Socialists like Fauxahontas only regurgitate their MOAR GUBMINT talking points. Things like more freedom to create, to build, to invent means nothing. Because liberty is not what the Left is after.

“Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as “bad luck.”

― Robert Heinlein

As long as Lizzy gets to live her life of a multi-millionaire unmolested due to her status as a politician, she’ll always be for policies whose predictable failure can be foisted off as bad luck Republican’s fault.

Democrats create a problem and then blame somebody else. And people believe their lies. This is what 50+ years of welfare and woke has brought us.
