George Clooney Jettisons Joe Biden

Actor George Clooney is a massive Democrat fundraiser and a lifelong Democrat voter. Today, he wrote a guest Op/Ed in the New York Times calling for his friend Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 Presidential Race and for a new candidate to be named. Well after all, when you’ve lost George Clooney, there goes the money. Doctor Jill is stamping her tiny feet and shaking her tiny fists.

Clooney’s Op-Ed begins with him telling us how much George Clooney has done for the Democrat Party in the column titled, “I Love Joe Biden. But We Need a New Nominee.”.

I’m a lifelong Democrat; I make no apologies for that. I’m proud of what my party represents and what it stands for. As part of my participation in the democratic process and in support of my chosen candidate, I have led some of the biggest fund-raisers in my party’s history. Barack Obama in 2012. Hillary Clinton in 2016. Joe Biden in 2020. Last month I co-hosted the single largest fund-raiser supporting any Democratic candidate ever, for President Biden’s re-election. I say all of this only to express how much I believe in this process and how profound I think this moment is.

Dayum y’all, George Clooney is effing wonderful even if he does say so himself. He has deep, deep pockets and if he doesn’t know where more deep, deep pockets are, his wife, Amal Clooney does.

With these next words, George Clooney becomes Brutus to Joe Biden’s Caesar:

I love Joe Biden. As a senator. As a vice president and as president. I consider him a friend, and I believe in him. Believe in his character. Believe in his morals. In the last four years, he’s won many of the battles he’s faced.

But the one battle he cannot win is the fight against time. None of us can. It’s devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe “big F-ing deal” Biden of 2010. He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate.

Et tu, Brute?

Hold up there Cowboy Clooney. “It’s devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe “big F-ing deal” Biden of 2010. He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate.” So Clooney knew and didn’t say anything. Not for the good of his country, that’s for sure. Clooney wouldn’t have said squat, if Joe hadn’t had a “bad” night. Not a patriot, eh George?

Was he tired? Yes. A cold? Maybe. But our party leaders need to stop telling us that 51 million people didn’t see what we just saw. We’re all so terrified by the prospect of a second Trump term that we’ve opted to ignore every warning sign. The George Stephanopoulos interview only reinforced what we saw the week before. As Democrats, we collectively hold our breath or turn down the volume whenever we see the president, who we respect, walk off Air Force One or walk back to a mic to answer an unscripted question.

Terrified of a second Trump term? What would Trump do? Build the economy so that people can afford to go to your sucky movies? Keep America’s sons and daughters out of another foreign war? Keep them from being slaughtered in another Afghanistan-type withdrawal? For those of us military families, this is not a video game.

George Clooney knew and said not one damn word. And those of us who have seen it for four freaking years were abused and derided.

This next part is a hoot coming from people who lecture us about DEMOCRACY.

It is disingenuous, at best, to argue that Democrats have already spoken with their vote and therefore the nomination is settled and done, when we just received new and upsetting information. We all think Republicans should abandon their nominee now that he’s been convicted of 34 felonies. That’s new and upsetting information as well. Top Democrats — Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, Nancy Pelosi — and senators, representatives and other candidates who face losing in November need to ask this president to voluntarily step aside.

We know the 34 felonies is a lot of bull, just like George Clooney saying that Biden’s dementia is news. Clooney’s Op-Ed and Pelosi on MSNBC. A crescendo is starting to build.

Not for nothing but shouldn’t the Dems return the Clooney raised money?

Oh, the horror! George jettisoned Joe. As if we all care what George thinks anyway! Who died and made him a political expert? Babs Streisand?

“just received new and upsetting information.”

New?!? Anyone who isn’t a die hard Democrat has been saying he was mentally unfit for (at least) 2 years. Where have you people been?

I could almost feel sorry for the people who have had the blinders pulled off and are now aware that the emperor is naked – if it weren’t for the hate filled vitriol so many of the sprew.
