yankee fantasy camp; our blog friend ken suited up in pinstripes; on fox’s ‘hannity’ friday night. we won’t mention the “OMG!!!!” text message or was it email (?) he got from me at the end of the show!
yay ken — you looked great out there! boo yankees! go dodgers!! 😛
That was such a great week! The Yankee players and the other campers were fantastic and the Fantasy Camp did a wonderful job. I went there with my brother and we had the best time.
If you are a true baseball fan, find out if your team runs a fantasy camp, many of them do, and make sure you go. It is absolutely unforgettable.
Good job Ken. I admit you looked like a “Natural” out there on the field (pun intended). Glad to see you got the chance of a lifetime. I do agree with our blog hostess that the Yankees suck big time but I am glad they treat their fans so well. Did you get to keep all the schwag?
Well Ken that was truly lovely! You were a very cute child. I had no idea of the severity of your injuries. I think you are an overcomer. Bravo!
Ken you were a very cute little kid. So what happened to you? Ha!
I wonder if Faux News ever does similar puff profiles on anyone who went to Iraq or Afghanistan and was injured who isn’t conservative and pro-war? Seeing as how I never watch trash TV, I wouldn’t know.
Well Pennie, its probably because the majority of those that went to fight did so because as voting records represent 75% of them are republican, or vote that way.
So the odds are that no matter what you’re watching you’re more than likely to see a republican pro war patriot being “puffed”. If it was a moonbat I’m sorry to say that I believe his heart would be more into the paycheck and the benefits rather than the cause. On some fronts I’ll be wrong but my feeling for the majority of those liberals stands as is. I’ve read the mail from the disgruntled ones and can only ask myself “why the hell did you go in the first place “?
As far as “what you know” goes.. we could jack and ether cable into the back of your head and you’d stll be as dumb as a rock.
Liberals will never learn that its not so much how much you know, but what you do with that knowledge.
Congrats Ken! That was a beautiful story. I saw it on TV Friday night. I had no idea it was you. I guess I didn’t put 2+2 together. d’oh.
Words fail at trying to express the inspiration your bring dude
ken so i had no idea that you had been to iraq and so badly wounded! i don’t agree with you on much around here but i admire you buddy.
Ken, I’m so happy you had the chance to do this. What an awesome experience for a true Yankee fan, altough I think you might look better in a Ranger uniform 🙂 The next time you go can I come along, I would like to “cough” talk to Bucky Dent (my all time favorite Yankee).
Penni, you are by far the most miserable person I have ever encountered online. What does being a Republican or democrat have to do with this truly inspirational story? Republican or democrat they are the ones putting their lives on the line everyday so you can have the freedom to come on this blog daily and make an ass out of yourself.
Again, I say, Pennie CAN’T be older than 13 years. That is, her approach to things & life and her ‘understanding’ of life is so underdeveloped that it can only come from one who is also still underdeveloped – i.e. a teenager.
Here’s looking for her growing up and developing a proper adult-level, problem understanding & problem solving mind. : )
Well Rope… you pop back up. Back at ‘cha!
David… no I haven’t been 13 for a long time but I still have very perky, very developed breasts.
I don’t know what you crabby people are complaining about. I was very nice to Ken.
Again, Ken & Kate, the video is great! What a great story & inspiration for all the rest of us.
Oh, and Pennie, please note that I’m rooting for you to develop “a proper adult-level, problem understanding & problem solving mind.” We’re not trying to focus on your physical beauty. : )
But at least you didn’t insult anyone in your post. : )
“But at least you didn’t insult anyone in your post.”
I’m slipping.
“Did you get to keep all the schwag?”
I did get to keep it! Kept the uniform as well as all the goodies that I got throughout the week. Every time you came to your locker there was something waiting for you, it was like Christmas!
Thanks for all the kind words and support everyone!
My wife was snooping around in my favorites bar and came across your story.
She cried.
