A very quick recap for you all over morning coffee: A 24-year-old Tunisian named Anis Amiri drove a truck into a Christmas market, killing 12 people and injuring 48. Mind you, this was not an old man who hit the gas instead of the brakes. Amiri is a piece of work. The Associated Press (AP) said this
The Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper and broadcasters NDR and WDR reported Thursday that Amri’s fingerprints were found on the driver’s door of the Polish-registered truck that caused the mayhem Monday night. The daily Berliner Zeitung reported that his fingerprints were found on the truck’s steering wheel.
And this sure is comforting:
German officials had deemed Amri, who arrived in the country last year, a potential threat long before the attack Monday – and even kept him under covert surveillance for six months this year before halting the operation.
It just gets better and better
Amiri has quite a charming rap sheet in his short time on the planet. According to the AP his crimes include the following:
Amri’s father told Tunisia’s Mosaique FM radio that his son left his homeland about seven years ago, spent four years in a prison in Italy after being accused in a fire at a school there then moved to Germany more than a year ago. The father said he had no contact with his son, although Amri’s brothers did.
Yeah yeah he was innocent as a baby Lambie. Nevermind the outstanding warrants at home, right?
Mosaique FM cited security officials as saying that Amri had been convicted in absentia for aggravated theft with violence in Tunisia and sentenced to five years in prison. No dates were given.
Just a regular guy. This probably is a good time to mention that daddy’s little cherub was on the US No Fly list (which for once did its job). And that junior was suspected of planning to Break and Enter in search of money and weapons. He was a drug dealer and got into bar fights per surveillance and then Ms. Merkel’s refugee policy kicked in.
Separately, Amri’s asylum application was rejected in July. German authorities prepared to deport him but weren’t able to do so because he didn’t have valid identity papers.
Gee why do Germans get raped and murdered by these sweet innocent “refugees?” SMH.

Ties to know terrorists, comes from a country with a lot of its citizens joining ISIS. He was under surveillance then he just dropped off the radar as low risk. I can only hope Europe takes a long hard look at how they respond to terrorists and read a little history. The Song of Roland and Charles Martel might be a good place to start.
Oh yes, the Euros f*ed up big time. This guy should have been mouldering under a rock, at best. You missed the bit where he had documentation for six different identities, under three different nationalities when he was detained at one point. That right there would be enough for me to put him in a slow boat with a fast leak on his way back to Tunisia.
Oh, and Tunisia had to issue him a new passport so someone (Germany, I think) could send him back. That new passport arrived yesterday.
