Elissa Slotkin And The Democrat Response To Trump’s Address

Giving the opposing party’s response to The State of the Union or, in this case, Joint Address is a thankless job. It has to be pre-recorded. Remember when Marco Rubio reached for that bottle of water? Especially after Trump hit the ball out of the universe, it was going to be a no win situation. Last night, Michigan Senator Elissa Slotkin got the fickle finger of fate and had to give the response. She would have been better off staying at home and rearranging her sock drawer.

It didn’t help Senator Slotkin to have the visuals of the sour faced Democrats being broadcast for two hours before her tape got played. What a rancid crowd.

ABC’s David Muir says that Minority Leader Chuck Schumer called her a Democrat rising star. Oh, dear. Here is the response the Elissa Slotkin gave:

Miss Slotkin knows you have never heard of her. She worked for the CIA in national security because she was in New York City on September 11, 2001. I personally found it interesting that she said that she was there when the buildings fell, rather than when we were attacked, but then there is a large Muslim population in Michigan. After some interesting bromides, she warns us that there is a responsible way to make government changes and an irresponsible way. There is a way to do it and make good union-working, middle class types better off so the money doesn’t go to billionaires. I don’t know if Elissa is from a family of billionaires, but her family owned and sold Ball Park Franks.

It takes some crust to stand up there and say that Trump is trying to do an unprecedented give away to his billionaire friends. Can you say hypocrite? I won’t repeat all the hypocritical tales she spewed. She was in the House for years before the Senate so that she knows the grift that has been going on.

Then she had the crust to bring Elon’s 20 year olds. During her three tours in Iraq with the CIA, along side the military, I am sure she saw a lot of those 20 year olds.

Oh Senator Slotkin, they don’t care a jot about our tax returns and health information.

At the six minute mark, Slotkin brings up President Ronald Reagan and “peace through strength”. This piece is from NBC News:

Sen. Elissa Slotkin, D-Mich., lit into President Donald Trump on Tuesday night, suggesting that President Ronald Reagan — whose “peace through strength” mantra Trump has adopted — would be appalled by his approach to Russia’s war against Ukraine.

“After the spectacle that just took place in the Oval Office last week, Reagan must be rolling in his grave,” Slotkin, referring to Trump’s unexpectedly contentious meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy last week, said in her response to the joint address to Congress.

Actually Elissa said Trump stole it from Ronald Reagan and that Ronaldus Maximus is rolling in his grave. Argggh! Could this Cornell University graduate be this ignorant or is she playing us. Alexander Hamilton, another whiz kid, used “peace through strength in Federalist #24. It was used in World War II and it was used by Barry Goldwater in 1964.

Peace through strength originated with Emperor Publius Hadrian of Hadrian’s Wall. Donald Trump didn’t steal it anymore than the Democrats at the Joint
Address stole the idea of acting like spoiled children.

Slotkin has some nerve saying that Trump decides what parts of the Constitution and our laws to ignore. Really let’s think about icky Joe Biden and his ignoring the Supreme Court about college loans. Spare me, sister.

If I were Elissa Slotkin, the next time Democrat leadership called, I would tell them the spices in my spice cabinet are all expired and I’m busy.

Did Senator Slotkin stand and clap (or even clap) when President Trump announced the arrest and extradition of the ISIS-K planner of the Abbey Gate bombing that killed 23 American service members?

    • Wfjag says:

Typo – 13, not 23. Wouldn’t want to sully the reputation of the ISIS-K planner by making his crime seem worse, or the reputations of any Congressional Democrats who passed on the opportunity to publicly celebrate his being turned over to the U.S. to face justice.

      • Scott says:

I believe she was in Michigan, not at the Address.

But yeah, highly unlikely that she applauded.. this is what infests the CIA… no wonder we are where we are.
