“What has America come to?” screams the media. The Democrats will be demanding a full investigation, says hyperpartisan Marxist twat Jerry Nadler, the likely new head of the House Judiciary Committee.
Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., who also sits on the House Judiciary Committee, also called for an investigation, and said Congress should cut off funds to agencies where children die in custody.
Nielsen “has this on her hands,” Jayapal said on Twitter, adding that if “‘border security’ means detaining 7 year old children and letting them die in OUR custody, SHAME ON US. No more money without accountability.”
What has America come to? Well, our Border Patrol agents found 163 people wandering around in the desert, they picked up the group and took them to a facility where they began processing them, they saw a young child in distress, called in a chopper, and had her evacuated to a hospital where medical personnel unsuccessfully worked to save her life. What ogres!
Let’s look at some facts before blaming Border Patrol and the United States – facts the Democrats are only to happy to ignore in favor of placing blame at the feet of the Trump administration and demonizing the men and women tasked with keeping our borders secure.
The girl died of septic shock and dehydration. She and her father were picked up on the night of December 6 at about 10pm along with roughly 160 more illegal aliens who decided they were entitled to break into our country.
The girl reportedly hadn’t eaten or had anything to drink for several days and began suffering seizures about eight hours after being taken into custody, according to Customs and Border Protection.
Whose fault is it that the child wasn’t given anything to eat or drink and that she was dragged along in a group that could have possibly contained individuals with communicable diseases? Even the CDC admits this is a risk, although the document containing this data has “mysteriously” disappeared from its website. PolitiFact, however, captures the gist:
“The sheer number of people who live, work, and travel between the United States and Mexico has led to a sharing of culture and commerce, as well as the easy transportation of infectious diseases,” CDC writes on its website. “The large movement of people across the United States and Mexico border has led to an increase in health issues, particularly infectious diseases such as tuberculosis.”
So the child was dragged along on a lengthy journey with a group of people, some of whom could possibly have been sick, and not given water or food for several days. How is this the fault of the US?
The agency said emergency medical personnel discovered the girl had a fever of 105.3 degrees and she was flown to a hospital in El Paso. There she suffered cardiac arrest and was revived but died Saturday morning, the agency said.
So after the girl started having seizures, medical personnel were summoned and she was transferred to a hospital for emergency treatment. THOSE BORDER PATROL BRUTES! How dare they not know that there was something wrong with the child! How dare they not know that she needed immediate medical attention! How dare they transfer her to a hospital!
Although the Wall Street Journal acknowledges that it lacks insight into whether the girl received food or water after being taken into custody, the Border Patrol says she was at least examined. It takes time to process that many people at one time, so chances are any medical exam was perfunctory, and the officers would have to rely on the father to tell them the truth about any problems with his daughter. Daddy dearest, who apparently hasn’t got the common sense of ass hair, having dragged a 7-year-old child through a desert for days without sustenance and having failed to ask Border Patrol officers for something as simple as a drink of water for his daughter, lied to the officers about the child’s health.
Migrants are generally given brief medical exams after their arrests. The agency said her father told authorities the girl was fine.
There were 163 people traveling in that group. It most likely takes several hours to process all those people, to get their names, to give them a cursory examination, to write down their information. And her father didn’t think to ask Border Patrol agents for some water after walking in the desert for several days?
What kind of parent does that?
Whose fault was that?
Her father is either dumber than a brick, or a liar.
An intake form signed by the girl’s father said she wasn’t sick, wasn’t sweating and seemed mentally alert. The form was obtained by The Associated Press.
Immigration officials briefing reporters say the girl’s father told officials that she was sick and vomiting when they were on a bus heading to a Border Patrol station. When they arrived 90 minutes later, the girl wasn’t breathing.
So Border Patrol officers trusted the father when he said she was fine.
But because it’s now en vogue to denigrate and demonize ICE, DHS, and Border Patrol, the left is blaming the US. Because anything they can blame Trump for, they will.Thousands of migrants die on the trek to the US, and yet, somehow it’s Trump’s fault that this father took his little girl on a dangerous journey during which so many perish. No one blamed Obama or Bush or Clinton when that was going on during their administrations, but now it’s Trump’s fault.
BUT SHE DIED IN US CUSTODY!!!!
Fact: one can survive several days without water. The hours this child spent in CBP custody without water would not have killed her. Being dragged across a desert for days without food or water in a group that could have contained individuals carrying all sorts of diseases would have.
Fact: CBP agents and doctors at the hospital worked to save this little girl’s life. They evacuated her via helicopter to a hospital. They did everything they could to save her. She got immediate care as soon as CBP realized something was wrong, and her story should be a cautionary tale to any parent with any sense who wants to come to the United States.
Had this irresponsible moron of a father gone to a point of entry legally and asked for asylum, he would have been a lot better off, and maybe his little girl would be alive today. Sure they may have been placed in a detention center for a bit, but she would be alive.
This heartbreaking tragedy was entirely avoidable, had daddy not decided to climb in through a window, instead of knocking on the door.

Two things, first, you want the media and the dems to recognize facts? Never going to happen. And two, do we know for sure she was his daughter?
Note that the Democrats criticizing the Border Patrol are the ones who deny that any person should be held person ably accountable for their actions, that it is the state who is responsible and that the parent may make very bad choices for a child, yet not be held accountable for child endangerment.
What a farce and a joke of humanity are the Democrats.
It’s obvious that is any American mother or father dragged their child across 2000 miles that included desert, liberals would be screaming that authorities remove the child from the custody of anyone that would endanger their child in that fashion.
Yet, liberals insisted that authorities not remove these children from their irresponsible parents and the dangerous behavior that they were exposed to because they are Hispanics.
The only conclusion one can reach is that liberals hate Hispanics and are only using them for their own power-mad ends.
Isn’t it getting to be about time to polish up the guillotine? We just may need to follow the French in days past to clean out our so called representatives.
All the more reason to build a wall. If they know they won’t get in they won’t bring their kids and try. The Dems are responsible for the deaths by blocking the wall.
.
My issue is that brain swelling and liver failure are not signs of dehydration. Kidney and heart failure are. More likely, the child had a virus of some sort.
[…] is responsible for the tragic death of 7-year-old Jackeline Caal? If you ask the Democrats, it was not her moron father who dragged her […]
A concern: Are all these folks in isolation? If not, Why not! This child may well have been contagious for sometime. This whole incident should serve as a reminder to everyone, but how precious life is.
Wow…. I only listed to 15 seconds of the video. It was LIES. They turned themselves in? No they did not, the father is the one who is negligent. And how much money did it cost to save this child? $100K? With the helicopter ride, the emergency room treatment etc, the child died with dignity at the end, a tragic end to an innocent life. Had she died in the desert because that would have happened for sure, she would have been buried out there in an unmarked grave…. How many other people are buried in the desert from crossing the border illegally? Build the wall!!!
Where’s all the concern for illegal aliens molesting, raping, seriously injuring, killing or murdering Americans in numbers that would shock most people – if they only knew.
Here’s a poster with the pictures, names, and state where died, of 180 Americans killed by illegal aliens. Unfortunately, there are many, many more.
Note all the CHILDREN.

You ask:. “So the child was dragged along on a lengthy journey with a group of people, some of whom could possibly have been sick, and not given water or food for several days. How is this the fault of the US?”
It’s the fault of Democrat politicians who encourage people to break through the border however they can and to ignore the law, offering tacit promises they can stay. This girl died despite the best efforts of the Trump administration to save her. People like Rep. Jayapal and Send. Warren are the ones with blood on their hands.
No one blamed Obama or Bush or Clinton
Well, that’s not true. The media and left (BIRM) complained when it happened under Bush (even though he was effectively for porous borders).
And actual people with brains in their heads blamed 0bama (because he encouraged them to actually make the trip). Just not the media.
detaining 7 year old children and letting them die in OUR custody
“LETTING“?!? If I were an involved BP agent, I would be suing the woman for slander, immediately. They might be immune from arrest, but not from a civil suit.
(Yes, “letting” implies negligence at a minimum, if not “depraved negligence” – the sort of thing child abusers get charged with – and with that, culpability. And she knows damn well it’s a false accusation. That right there is slander.)
Congress should cut off funds to agencies where children die in custody.
Absolutely! Let’s cut off all money to Medicare and Medicaid, the V.A., and every police department and prison. (Especially prisons – ever heard of the death penalty?)
What a moron.
My son is a BP agent. Many of his friends are BP agents or retired. To suggest that they would not only ignore a sick child or interfere with her care is slanderous and if said in their presents, dangerous.
Ask any BP agent what their job is and the answer is ” to enforce the law” no mention will be made of killing children.
Having worked for INS and DHS on the Border for many years, I am certain the BP agents did have some water for the group. Fun Fact – The Border Patrol rescues many people wandering in the desert. They carry water and basic aid for illegal aliens. But the station at Antelope Wells, New Mexico doesn’t have many agents. Arranging for this alrge group to be transported to the small town of Lordsburg must have been a logistical nightmare. This group entered far from any population center. As most illegal aliens do, they looked for the Border Patrol to turn themselves in. Why? Because they know they will receive aid and be processed into our legal system where they will likely be free to remain in the U.S. pending immigration hearings years later. Those idiot democrats should be thanking the BP for doing everything in its power to save the little girl and for patrolling this desolate area instead of insulting them.
