Charlotte Train Stabbing Could Have Been Prevented

There are many reasons the Charlotte light rail stabbing could have been prevented.
As if we needed more confirmation that this heinous crime could have been prevented, enter the half-brother of this piece of trash, mentally ill nutcase who stabbed Ukrainian refugee, Iryna Zarutska.

I think they could have pretty much prevented it then. I didn’t even know he had mental problems…you can’t just let him walk free especially because of mental issues. He could do it again. They should still treat him for his mental issues but there are consequences for his actions. I think he should suffer the consequences. He was on my father’s side. They have a record of being in jail and stuff.”

A record of “being in jail and stuff”. Who are they? The murderer, his father and his other brother, apparently.

The killer he had 13 prior convictions, including for armed robbery, and was released without bail and a trial pending when he allegedly killed Zarutska. Without bail.

Yes, it could have been prevented. The Mayor blames the epidemic of mental illness and then blames the lack of law enforcement. Remember? They wanted to get them out of the cities. Then, it’s the magistrates, the DAs. It’s not just one of them…it is all of them who are the problem here. Who knew catch and release is not a viable method of fighting crime?

The crazed killer is charged with a federal crime and accused of committing an act causing death on a mass transportation system in the Aug. 22 stabbing, according to the Justice Department. He will get the “maximum amount of time”, they say. Regardless of rotting away in a cell, he still gets to wake up every day, which is more that we can say for Iryna Zarutska-a young woman who was living in a bomb shelter in Ukraine before she came to for a better life here in the U.S.

The bizarre disconnect amongst the left on this is baffling. Some of them put the Ukraine flag out along with their rainbow flags. But in an instant, a mentally ill man’s well-being means more to Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles and her constituents than a woman, fleeing the oppression of Russia and her war-torn country, landing in Charlotte to live the American dream and a have a better life. Way to champion for women here, Vi. This beautiful young woman with dreams died terrified and alone and, needlessly.

It could have been prevented.

This security video not only tells the story of a lunatic riding a train but one of the human condition. Imagine if the girl sitting in Irina’s seat on that fateful light rail ride was black. And let’s imagine further if all of the passengers sitting in that area of the car were white. The black woman in the red shirt sitting in the aisle across from Zarutska looked over at her, she saw the horror on her face. What did she do? She looked away, averting her gaze out the window. There were others in that area of the car who did the same thing-absolutely nothing. Let’s marinate on this for a minute. If the above story was the one that played out a few days back, no question about it, there would be rioting in the streets once again.

But we’re “igniting the firestorm” or something, right, New York Times?

The outrage over the Charlotte killing is a part of a pattern in which President Trump and his allies highlight horrific crimes to bolster their case that the country is plagued by “American carnage,” as Mr. Trump put it in his first inaugural address, despite statistics that show crime is dropping. In Charlotte, overall crime was down by 8 percent in the first half of this year compared with the same period last year, according to the police, while violent crime was down by 25 percent.”-Eduardo Medina, Richard Fausset and Emily Cochrane, The New York Times

Crime is down. Crime is dropping. We are good journalists. We repeat all of the talking points. We’re outraged that you’re outraged.

Last year, conservatives successfully used the killing of a nursing student in Georgia, Laken Riley, by a Venezuelan immigrant who had entered the country illegally to stoke fears about immigrant crime. While some on the left point to data showing that immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than native-born Americans, some conservatives argue that any crime committed by someone in the country illegally could have been prevented by strict immigration enforcement.”-Eduardo Medina, Richard Fausset and Emily Cochrane, The New York Times

This gives us a glimpse into their minds. Conservatives “used” the senseless killing of Laken Riley to drum up hysteria, they say. This is their modus operandi. Use a virus to divide people. Use the death of a black man to drum up a bunch of riots. Use this event to revamp curriculum in schools, stoke division and cause yet more violence. Their outrage is genuine but when we’re outraged, for whatever reason, it is all manufactured.

Frankly, Charlotte has been implementing what I’d call progressive policies that are making us more like Atlanta and Portland than Charlotte.”-Pat McCrory,(R) former mayor of Charlotte and State Governor of North Carolina

Policies like Atlanta and Portland? That does not bode well for this North Carolina city.

The funny thing about these mouth-breather, New York Times “journalists” is they inadvertently caused the firestorm because they, selectively, did not report the story. A woman losing her life on the light-rail to a 14-time criminal was not “newsworthy” enough. They need to quit their jobs because they are very bad at their jobs.

This horrific act could have been prevented and should have been prevented. It is yet another illustration of left-leaning policies, and the inept and ineffective policy makers, politicians, judges and magistrates in large cities nationwide. Charlotte is now part of these statistics. Congratulations, Charlotte.
