When Zohran Mamdani returns from his extravagant three-day wedding on his family compound in Uganda, we hope that he finds his chances in the New York City Mayoral Race seriously diminished. He’s a racist who doesn’t like Capitalism and wants to defund the police. Fortunately, in Midtown Manhattan last night the NYPD gave their best and the people of NYC should know and appreciate it.
The address is pretty tosh even for Midtown. Fifty-second and Park Avenue (Second Avenue) is very active with Blackstone and the NFL there. Watching the alleged shooter walk purposely toward the entrance with a rife was shocking.
Right out of the gate, WTF is going on? 33rd floor? How would someone enter a midtown Manhattan building with guns like this? Major office buildings in NYC have good security. https://t.co/nnGvCBEq35

This was exactly what we thought. My husband worked at 44th and Madison Avenue for years. Security passes were on before you came up out of the train station and we have been in Knoxville, TN for 20 years. I don’t get this.
According to U.S. News and World Report:
Police did not immediately make details of the shooting public, but a law enforcement source told Reuters at least one New York Police Department officer and two civilians were struck by gunfire and that the suspect was believed to be dead.
The source said the information was preliminary, and the condition or extent of injuries sustained by the police officer and two others was not immediately known.
The New York Post newspaper, citing unnamed police sources, reported that a gunman wearing a bullet-resistant vest and carrying an AR-style rifle had opened fire inside the Park Avenue skyscraper, wounding a police officer and a bystander. The Post reported they were in critical condition.
The gunman, the Post reported, had barricaded himself inside the office tower, possibly on the 32nd floor of the building.
A short time later, New York Police Commissioner Jessica Disch said on X: “At this time, the scene has been contained and the lone shooter has been neutralized.”
How in cornbread hell did he make it to the 32nd floor without being neutralized? Reports are that an off-duty NYPD officer was working security in the building and the alleged shooter shot him. When you look at the number of law enforcement at the scene when the shooting was over, it looks as if they have plenty of officers, just not in the right places.
— Investigators are looking into whether Shane D. Tamura was targeting the National Football League (NFL) offices at 345 Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, as he previously played football at Granada Hills Charter in Los Angeles.

The New York Post had some eyewitness reporting last night:
Witnesses to the deadly shooting at 345 Park Avenue were in disbelief when they saw gunman Shane Tamura open fire — and some were left barely controlling their panic.
“I was on the one block away, and I heard shots being fired and then a bunch of police, they came to neutralize it,” said 30-year-old Oleksandr Stupak, who was standing across from the skyscraper when the bullets started flying Monday evening.
“I went to the Citizen app, and it says active shooting. A lot of police started to come. I mean. [It’s ] crazy,” he told The Post.
Another man — who was apparently in the tower’s lobby when 27-year-old gunman Shane Tamura walked in and started firing — was left gasping for breath on a neighboring office building’s stoop as he called a loved one to tell them what happened.
“I was at work, and this guy came in with an assault rifle and started shooting. I was in the lobby at work,” the man said into the phone.
He buried his face in his hands as he gasped for breath, and had a bandage on his knee and on a hand as a police officer tended to him.
Shane Tamura, the alleged gunman is from Las Vegas. He walked into the lobby in Midtown bold as brass:
The gunman who shot dead at least four people at an office building in Midtown on Monday evening has been identified by law enforcement sources as a 27-year-old man from Las Vegas who was recently working as a security guard at a casino.
Shane Tamura was identified by authorities as the gunman who entered 345 Park Avenue—a luxurious 44-story building—and opened fire killing one police officer and at least three civilians before taking his own life. Authorities confirmed that one other person was also injured in the deadly attack. According to sources, officials found a vehicle at the scene with Nevada license plates that was registered to Tamura.
The gunman was found dead on the 33rd floor of the building—where Blackstone’s headquarters are located—after taking his own life with a gunshot wound. A photo obtained by The New York Post revealed that Tamura held a concealed carry permit issued in Las Vegas, valid until 2027.
He was actually found on the 44th floor.
He killed the NYPD officer, Didarul Islam, as he walked in:
The NYPD officer shot and killed by a deranged gunman inside a Midtown Manhattan skyscraper Monday was identified as a “hero” dad and nearly four-year department veteran – whose wife is about to give birth to their third child, officials and sources said.
Married father-of-two Didarul Islam, 36, was remembered as a dedicated family man who loved putting on the uniform after he was senselessly murdered by 27-year-old Shane Tamura inside 345 Park Avenue, heartbroken city leaders said during a press conference.
“He was doing what he does best and all members of the police department carry out, he was saving lives,” Mayor Eric Adams said at a late Monday press conference.
Didarul Islam and three others were killed. One security guard survived.
NYC needs to get over her love affair with Mamdani. The city needs more good police like Officer Islam.

When confronted by someone that is truly suicidal, there is really no prevention. There is only limiting the casualties that result. Which is made difficult, if not impossible, by the gun grabbers.
