A Tamer And Toned-Down Donald Trump RNC Speech

We will see a tamer and toned-down Donald Trump at this Republican National Convention. The call to tone down the political language from everyone has been strong since the assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

July 13, 2024, is a day that will be in American history forever. It is the day when an assassination attempt happened to Donald J. Trump while giving a speech at his rally in Butler County, Pennsylvania.

Corey Comperatore attended the Trump rally and was shot dead while shielding his family from a sniper’s bullet. The bullet was meant for Donald Trump. And two other rally attendees are still hospitalized with their own injuries from that day.

Joe Biden Attempts To Say Something

President Joe Biden attempted to give several responses to the news, and Victory Girl Deanna breaks it down in her blog post titled, Biden Calls For Unity Falls Short In Recognizing His Own Fails.

Biden urged everyone to “lower the temperature” without acknowledging in the least that he himself is just as responsible for using the same rhetoric. And that makes his speech much less impactful, because it rings so very hollow. The dodging of responsibility, while demanding that everyone else “unify” and calm down, is obvious. – Deanna Fisher, Victory Girls

And speaking of promoting violent rhetoric from the left. Here is a recap of probably what led us to where we are today.

But we all already know all this because you have been paying attention and calling this out for a while now.

So, now that the 2024 Republican National Convention is about to start, Donald Trump is reportedly taking the lead in lowering the temperature.

Third in line to the Oval Office is Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, who also calls for everyone to bring down the temperature.

Speaker Mike Johnson on Sunday issued an urgent plea to fellow political leaders to bring down the national temperature after the failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump, citing President Joe Biden’s comment that Democrats needed to put a “bullseye” on the former president as an example of the reckless rhetoric that needs to stop. – MSN

Yes, that’s right. A sitting President using language like needing to put a bullseye on his opponent is not a good look there, Joe. Do we need to give him a pass on this? Again, see the montage clip in the X post above before you answer.

A Tamer Donald Trump

However, Donald Trump probably has the most to say on this topic, seeing how he literally dodged a bullet. I don’t think that is something one would take lightly. I imagine Donald has been reflecting a lot.

So, instead of the normal fiery speech that he would more than likely make, pointing out corruption and all of this current administration’s failings, Trump says he has changed his tone and theme of the convention with a new speech.

“Had this not happened, we had a speech that was pretty well set that was extremely tough,” Trump told the Washington Examiner. Now, we have a speech that is more unifying.”

Before Saturday’s shooting, Trump said, “I basically had a speech that was an unbelievable rip-roarer. It was brutal — really good, really tough.”

But he threw out that version, Trump told the Examiner: “I think it would be very bad if I got up and started going wild about how horrible everybody is and how corrupt and crooked, even if it’s true.” – USA Today

Typically, the Presidential candidate gives his speech on the last evening of the convention. While that is still happening, it is also rumored that he may even speak tonight to announce his Vice President.

We shall see. Regardless, I think the anticipation of Trump’s first words to the public since someone attempted to shoot him dead is extraordinarily heightened. America is waiting.

I’m sure Kevin and Reader are wetting their pants over that montage… the “whataboutism” they’ll soon spew will likely be epic projection..

The bullet was meant for Donald Trump.
Can we please quit with this? I can’t explain why it bugs me, but it sure makes Trump out to be something greater. It is highly possible that, after Trump ducked down, the shooter decided to just start committing mayhem. It is not necessarily a bullet that missed Trump. I’m sorry, but for some reason this rhetoric really grates on me.

A sitting President using language like needing to put a bullseye on his opponent is not a good look there, Joe.
If you’re going to claim hypocrisy after the Palin thing (with the shooting of Giffords), then I’m with you. But terms like this are NOT calls to assassinate anyone. At least not in and of themselves. Yes, there have been death threats and other “eliminationist rhetoric” – but that’s been true for 100 years or more. And yes, there is some Trump Derangement Syndrome that goes way over the edge. But let’s stop with the “Biden called for him to be assassinated by saying ‘put a bullseye on him’!” malarkey.

I don’t think that is something one would take lightly.
If he did, I would worry.

Now, we have a speech that is more unifying.
The important part here is that it can’t be perceived as Trump responding to all the Dem claims that he needed to “tone down the rhetoric.” As long as it doesn’t walk anything back or try to tamp down the ardor of his most ardent followers, it should work.

    • Oh, my GOOD GOD! Did Kevin hack your account?

      Trump was the target, period.

As for the Tucson shooting – that was ONE ad, NOT naming names, by a person NOT in office or running for office, and which that nutcase DID NOT EVEN SEE. It was NOT just the latest example of more than EIGHT YEARS of constant vitriol, INCLUDING explicit calls for murder, by people IN OFFICE (from POTUS on down), candidates for office, the mass media, university “professors,” and a multitude of other low lifes.
