This is not just a fail, but an epic fail. Your child, and I say that with a grain of salt, cannot pass the citizenship test of the United States of America. A new study has found that only 19% of people under the age of 45 can pass the test. Why do you still have your child in a government school? Back in the 1950’s, studies found that “Johnny Can’t Read”. Sixty years later, we know that Johnny, Janie and little Egbert can’t read, can’t math and can’t citizen.

This newest study was conducted by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation. “Investor’s Business Daily” reported the results. The title of the article is: “Our Education System Flunks The Citizenship Test”. From the article:

A new survey finds that only a third of Americans could pass the U.S. Citizenship test. It’s a dismal testament to the abject failure of the country’s education system. And a looming threat to the nation’s future.

The survey, conducted by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation and released on Wednesday, found that only 36% of Americans would pass the citizenship test given to immigrants. And this is on a test that only requires applicants to get 60% of the questions right.

You read that right. Only 36% of Americans would pass a test that only requires 60% of the questions be answered correctly. This is an epic fail.

“It would be an error to view these findings as merely an embarrassment,” said the Wilson Foundation’s president Arthur Levine. “Knowledge of the history of our country is fundamental to maintaining a democratic society, which is imperiled today.”

He has it exactly right. And blame rests with the nation’s education system who turn out students increasingly ignorant of even rudimentary facts about American history and civics.

It’s not as though we haven’t known about this glaring knowledge gap.

In 2011, the Education Department’s National Assessment of Education Progress found widespread ignorance of civics. Just one in 10 understood the checks and balances between the three branches of government. Only a small minority understood what rights the Constitution protects, or how laws are passed.

You may say teachers mean well and maybe they do. But, they spend too many hours a day indoctrinating children into mindless liberal drones. I know. I know. Teaching phonics and rote memorization of times tables and dates in history is boring as can be. I get it. And, there are studies, I am sure, that say kids don’t retain information from rote memorization. Look, I cannot speak French anymore, but I can still conjugate the French “to be” verbs, because I learned them by rote. Memorization is absolutely necessary.

Schools are to blame bigly, but not solely. Lazy parenting is also to blame. Yes, go look in the mirror. You brought that sweet little angel into this world. Don’t expect the government schools to educate your child or impart your values. That is your job. Mom and Dad. Both of you.

Look At What We Reap

Because of this monumental education failing, young people — particularly those in colleges and recent graduates — believe it is perfectly acceptable to silence speech with which they disagree.

As we saw from the Brett Kavanaugh spectacle, few people appear to understand due process rights. The most basic, foundational principle of the nation’s rule of law — that people are innocent until proven guilty. In fact, two separate amendments to the Constitution contain due process clauses.

It also explains how a candidate running for Congress like socialist darling Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez could think that congressional representatives are “inaugurated,” or that lawmakers are able to sign bills into law, both of which she claimed at a political event on Monday.

Little Janie may not know why we have a Constitution or the Amendments, but you can bet she is out there wearing her pussy hat and screaming at the sky.

Maybe if colleges used the old “Schoolhouse Rock”, kids would be better educated. Remember this?

Ya think that someone could play this for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? The girl is college educated and dumber than a post.

As a parent, grandparent or citizen of this country, it is our responsibility to ensure that the next generation is educated and can carry on our Constitutional Republic. Every child, no matter what Little Egbert’s future occupation, should be able to read, write, do his sums, know our history and understand our system of government.

Shame on all of us. Epic Fail.
