This may surprise Hollywood’s elite, but Oprah is not universally beloved. Seal, the Grammy winning singer, called Oprah part of the problem in Hollywood.
Seal’s Instagram page has a message to Oprah that is unmistakable. From Fox News, here. Oops! Oprah is a perfect example of #SanctimoniousHollywood.
Seal added a sarcastic comment to the right of the photographs that suggested Winfrey knew Weinstein was mistreating women.
“Oh I forgot, that’s right…..you’d heard the rumours but you had no idea he was actually serially assaulting young stary-eyed actresses who in turn had no idea what they were getting into. My bad,” Seal wrote.
But Oprah is the defender of women? Ben Shapiro discusses her Golden Globes speech on the Daily Wire:
On Sunday evening, Oprah Winfrey received the Cecille B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award. She proceeded to launch into an emotional speech about the power of women to fight back against sexism and sexual malfeasance — a speech that led to widespread celebration in Hollywood, where everyone knew about the problem of sexual harassment and assault and nobody did anything for years, but where one speech from the most powerful woman in the history of media can apparently cure all ills.
Right. We talked about the insane foolery in Hollywood here, here, here and here.
So, what was so special about the speech?
Not much, in truth.
Oprah didn’t name any names. She didn’t explain where she had been for the prior several decades, as all of this unfolded. She didn’t encourage any serious measures against sexual harassment and assault. She channeled the feelings of many women, which is terrific, for what it’s worth — but it isn’t as though women have been met with scorn and hatred for telling their stories of sexual assault and harassment. The level of national sympathy for victims has been overwhelming, as it should be.
So Oprah is not trying to solve the problem but is giving warm platitudes while trying for business as usual. As Seal said, she is part of the problem. Enabling, ignoring and minimizing sexual assault is sure not a feminist act, Oprah. I am sure there is some dewy-eyed Oprah viewer in tears. Tough noogies, snowflake. Oprah is not perfect. And if you hate the current administration, you may want to be careful about following a celebrity. Or read these nice tweets and think about them.
People asked how Seal knew. Well, watch this short video.

Oprah is not an advocate. She is something else. Ben also asked a key question that is tweeted here:
Oprah “was standing in front of an entire town filled w/ sexual abusers. She said nothing about it for 20yrs. She was being cheered by people who said nothing for 20yrs. And there she is pretending she is leading the fight. In what way has she led the fight?” – Ben Shapiro

And a question to Ms. Winfrey and pals:
Where were the #GoldenGlobe black dresses all the years when @rosemcgowan & others were attacked by known sexual predators? What about @Corey_Feldman & victimized child actors? Why weren’t those victims given the spotlight instead of the blatant @Oprah 2020 campaign speech? pic.twitter.com/dnMsz3luaW

This cannot be reduced to an afterschool special with platitudes by Harvey’s biggest cheerleader, Oprah. Thank you, Seal, for doing what Hollywood refuses to do. Hoping more people speak out in the entertainment industry. And more importantly, protect the vulnerable.
Can’t one of these California wildfires just burn the whole damn place down so we can start over???
Seal is the same fucking hypocrite he accuses Oprah to be.
Saying she new all a long, appearently he also new all this time.
Why didn’t he say anything if he is such a hero?
Everbody in Hollywood knew this, so why just call out Oprah.
Meanwhile he and his model girlfriend Heidy Klum where big friends with Harvey Weinstein.
Weinstein was the executive producer of project Runway.
There are so many pictures of Seal and Heidy Klum with Weinstein, kissing Weinsteins ass.
Everbody knew that women where seen as mainly sex objects in a world (Hollywood) dominated by powerfull men. For years Seal has been one of those men.
I know people in that world and everbody knows that al lot of models have slept their way to fame. Including his ex. So for someone like Seal to make a statement like this, is a fucking joke.
He and men like him are the real part of the problem.
Oprah looks like a whorehouse madam in that photo.
