Everyone knows that Margaret Sanger‘s ideation of abortion and Planned Parenthood was steeped in eugenics-in weeding out the “undesirables” of our society.

After all, back in her day, it was ever-so-important to “prevent multiplication of this bad stock”. Apparently, an (unborn) child with Down Syndrome and his or her mother would have qualified to be in one of her clinics.

YouTuber, Jesse Ridgway, known as McJuggerNuggets, rose to Internet stardom for his Psycho Dad videos depicting an unhinged, pissed off father, so frustrated with his slacker kid, he destroys everything in his wake-video games, Nintendo Switches, laptops, you name it, he wrecks it.Ridgeway, it could be argued, went a little “Psycho Dad” himself this past week:

This week, my wife and I made the very difficult decision to terminate the pregnancy due to Trisomy 21.

The choice was not made lightly. We really appreciate all of the personal stories that you guys shared with us, especially the unconditional support we received from fans with no matter what we decided.

I know some of you may be very disappointed to hear this news. We are devastated. This has been extremely traumatic for both of us, especially Ashley.

She underwent the procedure earlier this week and is on the mend. Thankfully, everything went smoothly, but emotionally we are drained.

Trisomy 21, also known as Down Syndrome, is caused by an extra chromosome. It is caused by an error in cell division, like a glitch. The odds of a baby having it is 1 in 1000.

When I first confronted this news, I was shocked but optimistic. If they’re a little slow intellectually, then we’ll make it work. I signed on to be a parent, come what may…but I just didn’t fully understand what Down Syndrome entailed.

A glitch? This is not video game we are talking about here. This baby, this child, WAS a human being. And, yeah. No kidding, Trisomy 21 “is not the same as Autism”. Thanks for clearing that up, bro. But I get it, YouTubers have to appeal to the Least Common Denominator. More people Margaret Sanger would have argued were not made of “good stock”.

And don’t you know every parent and potential parent wants their child to be “of good stock”. They want people to squeal with delight when they bring home their new bundle of joy. Those Michelin Man legs, those chubby cheeks! He’s got Dad’s eyes and Mom’s cute, little button nose. And, oh, my! Look at that full head of hair! They hold their baby in their arms and imagine what he or she will become. They walk proudly out of the hospital with their healthy, beautiful baby and mark monthly milestones on Instagram. The woman glows about how much she loooooves motherhood and how much she throughly enjoyed being pregnant. They want the highlight reels of pregnancy and parenthood.

Sorry "Little Nugget" Mommy and Daddy had you dismembered and skull crushed and sucked out with a vacuum.

Vulnerable moment here. I was NOT a good pregnant woman. Come third trimester, anything and everything about my pregnancy went wrong. I had gestational diabetes. I had high blood pressure that eventually evolved into HELLP Syndrome at 33 weeks and the only cure for this (very high-risk) disorder is delivery of the baby. Our son and I were whisked into emergency surgery with no promises of a positive outcome. I was in critical care post-op, and he was in the NICU. We did not have the storybook pregnancy and birth. My body went through hell and I had long road of recovery. Our son was 3 pounds and in the hospital for about three weeks. We were very lucky. I eventually bounced back and our son is a very intelligent, caring, young adult. Yes, I am biased, but he’s pretty damn awesome if I say so myself.

My friend is a single mom. She has been through so much with her daughter who has Down Syndrome. She would not change any of it. Ever. Her daughter, who will be dependent on her for the rest of her life on this earth, IS a blessing. She loves music and horses. She is NOT a “glitch”-not by any means. She is innocent, a sweet and beautiful.

The Ridgways, as you imagine, have received a fair share of hateful remarks and even death threats for their decision to terminate the pregnancy at 21 weeks. Ridgway cited statistics as the reasons.

50% of babies with DS have heart defects. 75% will have hearing challenges. Over 50% will have vision problems. Impaired immune function, developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, delayed physical development, poor muscle tone, structural issues with face, decreased lifespan, etc…Sadly, the list is long, feel free to look it up…Down Syndome isn’t a “blessing”, it is objectively sh*tty from a health perspective.”-Jesse Ridgway

However…

…decades of advances in clinical treatment and medical technology, including corrective heart surgeries, have positively impacted the health outcomes for people with Down syndrome. According to the National Down Syndrome Society, as many as 80% of adults with the condition reach 60, with many living longer.”-USA Today

60 for an individual with Trisomy 21 is a long life. And, quite the burden on a couple whose main revenue stream involves a large, online presence. Can’t be bothered with doctor’s appointments and clinical treatments and surgeries. All very inconvenient “glitches” in God’s divine plan. Time to take matters into your own hands here.

Now, death threats are a bit harsh. But, Mr. Ridgway cannot openly put this all online and not expect attention. In fact, this guy did it for just that-attention.

What shocked me most of all was that this story has become mainstream news…A couple’s abortion is suddenly newsworthy in 2026…?

Therein lies the slippery slope of morality. Killing a PERSON, not a “clump of cells” but a BABY you referred to as a “nugget” because Trisomy 21 is not considered “good stock”.

That doesn’t mean that morality is easy. Morality is not easy. Morality is very often incredibly difficult. That doesn’t mean life is always wonderful, beautiful, or simple.

It does mean that doing the moral thing is required, whether or not it is difficult, and the only person in this scenario who really pays the price is the child. Was that child’s life not worth living? That is the actual presumption: that if you have all of these conditions, it’s better if the child is never born.
