That’s right, our Dear Leader will take care of it all. All he requires of us is our unwavering, unquestioning allegiance. Small sacrifice, right? Screw working to get what you want. Obama will provide all, as long as you kneel before him and worship.

This is exactly what i feared with Obama. I got nothing against his race. It isn’t a factor to me. The ONLY thing that i thought to myself that would be bad for electing a black president was this kind of mindset happening. Call me a racist or whatever, but I just knew that there were going to be some black people out there that are under the impression that his presidency somehow extends to them. That once he got in office, all black people’s lives would suddenly become Shangri-la rainbows and smiles. This attitude most of them have about “i am entitled to the world and you are a racist if you don’t give it to me” would only get worse. I kept telling people that in the grand scheme it really doesn’t matter who becomes president and i think black folks are about to get a hard hard lesson in reality should Obama win. Maybe this will be the bucket of icewater some of them need to realize that the only people who can help them is themselves. It’s time for them to stop pissing and moaning and get out there and WORK for a better life. A magical messiah president isn’t going to whisk you out of your situation, you have to be willing to earn it.
Oh and the white people who think electing a black president will allow the caucasian community to walk up to the african american community and say “so we’re cool right? we’re even? we’re good? no more nasty looks and making us feel bad for being white?” yeah…. that ain’t happening spanky.
When I saw the Obama infomercial my response was, how is he going to help these people? How is that first woman, the one with four kids, going to have more food and not have to juggle bills under Obama? That is life, sister. When you are young and have kids, money is tight. It was for our parents, and theirs, and theirs, and so on. That is life.
Then I saw this woman today. WTF? Working on putting gas in your car – life. Working on paying your mortgage – life. What on God’s green earth are these people going to do when reality sets in? It is just plain inhumane to cast yourself as hope for humanity when it cannot happen. You cannot shield people from life. Obama is setting these people up for the biggest disappointment of their lives.
mayorjimmy, this is not a black thing. I have heard this same sentiment from whites. People actually believe that Obama will end financial struggle.

Mat says: No offense, but why is this shocking to some people at this late hour? One must have been in a cocoon for several months without understanding the mentality of the Obama voter. I’m voting for McCain not because I think he’s conservative (he isn’t) but due to the fact that he’s the best chance for stopping the left. Well, all I can say is that if and when Obama is elected, then this country will truly get the leader and government that it deserves.

Very good, Thomas Jackson. Until now, I didn’t think anyone else noticed. Except I only considered Stalin. I thought he may be Obama’s mentor somehow. Who knows, seances or …? Anyway that’s my guess, Stalin.

Cassy, upon reading your post I wondered, “Hmm — did I hear wrong when doing my own post?” So listened closely again and am sure she said, “I won’t have to worry about putting gas in my car. I won’t have to worry about paying my mortgage.” I enjoy your blog.
