Halloween approaches and the annual Screeching of the Easily Offended™ campaign can be heard throughout the land. The bullying and policing of costumes, decorations, and party themes has moved from universities to corporations.
Halloween is pretty popular at Casa Click. Front yard transformed into a graveyard. Skeletons, pumpkins, and assorted props with a black, orange and grey color scheme. However, it looks like anyone possessing or displaying plastic pumpkins in the color black are, of course, RAAAACIST!!!
ANYTHING in “blackface”? What does that actually mean? A plastic pumpkin for Halloween decorations can be any color but if it’s black it is blackface? Of course, the corporate execs immediately rolled over in the face of this manufactured crisis.Bed Bath & Beyond has stopped selling black jack-o’-lanterns amid complaints that they are another form of blackface.
The home goods store stopped selling the product following outrage over a Halloween display using the pumpkins in Nyack, New York. [snip]
Wilbur Aldridge, the regional director at the NAACP, said in a statement that the pumpkin design “shows an extreme lack of sensitivity.”
“By now I would believe everyone [would] know that anything in Black face is offensive… Equally as offensive is that a retail store would have such an item in [their] inventory for general purchase,” the statement read, according to News 12.
Next up, fashion designers, designing while white, will be forbidden to offer next season’s little black dress. Cuz anything…
We’ve seen for years now that universities – the sites of Great Wokeness – who hold annual Sex Weeks, become downright Carrie Nations when it comes to Halloween Costumes. Each year the list of what students can’t wear grows as it becomes an annual rite for the self-declared oppressed (while attending universities with 5-figure tuition) to come up with new items that suddenly offend them. Victory Girl Toni Williams took point on this last year.
However, I will admit, this caught me by surprise.
Ask Kmart to remove child bride costume from its shelves – Sign the Petition! https://t.co/2V4raCTcp3 via @ChangeAUS

Say, what? Little girls have wanted to dress up as princesses, fairies, and brides for as long as trick-or-treat has been around. Who could ever be offended by a wedding dress?
Oh, wait.
A child bride costume currently exists on Kmart shelves in children’s sizes. Tell Kmart this is beyond inappropriate and offensive and that they have a social responsibility to pull this item off their shelves immediately. Please help me get this message to Kmart by signing this petition.
Each year, 12 million children (girls as young as 6 years old – the same size as this “costume”) are sold or married off by their family without their consent. That’s one million child marriages per month!
It is a special kind of stupid, with all the feelz, that a budget Halloween wedding dress costume is an endorsement of child marriage. And shame on K-Mart for yanking the costume.
By the way, has this mush-for-brains female ever seen what girls wear for first communion?
Playing dress up is just something kids do. Being a pretend bride is no more an endorsement of child marriage as being a pretend zombie is an endorsement of cannibalism.
[Yikes. I hope I’m not giving anyone ideas for next year’s outrage!]
I don’t know about you. But I’ve had it up to here with incessant pilgrimages to Mount You-Can’t-Do-That. Lighten up or shut up, Karen. Me? I’m tired of it.
Excellent reference Darleen! and great post as well!
When is enough, enough? Attacking all our traditions, rewriting history, doxxing people, verbally assaulting republicans in public places, ANTIFA and so much more. It’s time we start pushing back and our elected representatives should follow President Trump’ example and call out the hypocrisy and stupidity of these demented tools.
I think everything should be equal, we all should be allowed to have different colored pumpkins. There’s the traditional orange of course, yellow, blue, pink, white, and more. But hey if they don’t want black, it’s all good leave em out, leave em out, leave em out. Just to be safe shouldn’t they ban every item that’s black with a face, It’s ridiculous.
I wonder how many of these people screaming about cultural appropriation on Halloween understand that Halloween is an appropriation of Samhain. Samhain is a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. Which means, unless you are Gaelic, you’re appropriating my ancestors’ festival. So take that. Either quit yer bitching about costumes, or stop celebrating Halloween.
Several years ago, the Nashville,TN, media asked a local pagan / wiccan leader what she thought about the city officially shifting the date of the Halloween celebration to a weekend day.
He responded “Why would we care on which date a Christian holiday is celebrated.”
Reporter looked like someone took his bwankie from him.
12 million child brides a year? Now what religion/culture would think that is a good thing?
Hmm, couldn’t be one that was led by a dude named Mo would it?
