Obama invites our enemies to attack us

Obama’s newest nuclear strategy — if you could even call it strategy — shouldn’t really be a surprise. After all, hasn’t he spent his entire term so far actively trying to weaken the United States?

Think about it. He’s trying to close Gitmo. He’s given our enemies a timeline for when we’ll be leaving Afghanistan. He’s insulted and alienated our major allies. He bows to dictators and despots around the world. He’s done everything he could to limit our standing in the world’s power rankings. And now, he’s inviting our enemies to attack us!

President Obama said Monday that he was revamping American nuclear strategy to substantially narrow the conditions under which the United States would use nuclear weapons.

But the president said in an interview that he was carving out an exception for “outliers like Iran and North Korea” that have violated or renounced the main treaty to halt nuclear proliferation.

Discussing his approach to nuclear security the day before formally releasing his new strategy, Mr. Obama described his policy as part of a broader effort to edge the world toward making nuclear weapons obsolete, and to create incentives for countries to give up any nuclear ambitions. To set an example, the new strategy renounces the development of any new nuclear weapons, overruling the initial position of his own defense secretary.

Mr. Obama’s strategy is a sharp shift from those of his predecessors and seeks to revamp the nation’s nuclear posture for a new age in which rogue states and terrorist organizations are greater threats than traditional powers like Russia and China.

It eliminates much of the ambiguity that has deliberately existed in American nuclear policy since the opening days of the cold war. For the first time, the United States is explicitly committing not to use nuclear weapons against nonnuclear states that are in compliance with the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, even if they attacked the United States with biological or chemical weapons or launched a crippling cyberattack.

Just imagine how happy this makes Iran, North Korea, China, Russia, and Al Qaeda. Obama has just informed our enemies that they can feel free to use devastating attacks against us, and that they can rest peacefully at night that the United States won’t proportionately strike back. Obama naively thinks that reducing our own stockpiles and downgrading our nuclear capabilities will pressure Russia and China to follow suit.

Well, Obama is an idiot. Russia and China will gleefully continue to build their nuclear capabilities while we reduce ours. And that does nothing but weaken us. Reagan won the Cold War by making the United States stronger, not by weakening us and begging the USSR to be nice. This strategy is akin to George Washington banning the use of rifles in the Revolutionary War and expecting Great Britain and their soldiers to do the same. It’s ludicrous, dumb, naive, and dangerous.

Barack Obama is supposed to be our Commander-in-Chief. He’s supposed to make this country strong, safe, and secure. Yet since he’s taken office, all he’s done is make us weaker and less safe.

    Here’s a cheery thought,

Obama’s essentially a Marxist. Marxists dislike capitalism. They dislike democracy (well, federal republic). How do you achieve true communism in a country that has both of these as very strong traditions? You dismantle them, slowly and steadily. The only way you can introduce communism here is if you break up the traditions and ideas that make us who we are.

There is the slight possibility that Obama actually wants someone to hit us so he can declare martial law. Given what the Marxists do in other countries, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least.

My take is that Obama doesn’t really give a shit if the country is weaker and less safe, so long as he can create opportunities for leftists to eventually take full power.
