Methinks the liberals (at least the very rare species of non-brain dead ones) are going to send a not so subtle message to the Democrats in the fall about what they think of their policies and especially what they think of their personal safety. As it is, I think Dana Milbank may be checking himself into some sort of facility somewhere in order to help with his depression.
As it is, he seems to be worried sick, without just coming out and saying so in so many words, about things like 11 missing jetliners in Libya and another headless journalist in Iraq; what with it being so close to 9/11/14 and all. I thought for sure Dana would be spinning for the Lamestream Media about the Obumbler’s “No Plan” plan for dealing with the Islamists who want to burn the world down, but he seems to be striking a remarkably discordant chord
I mean, it isn’t like other world leaders aren’t busy too, what with Islamists doing what their good book says. In fact, the British Prime Minister had something cogent to say about this on Monday.
“To confront the threat of Islamist extremism, we need a tough, intelligent, patient and comprehensive approach to defeat the terrorist threat at its source. We must use all the resources at our disposal, our aid, our diplomacy and our military.”
Wow, sounds to me like that guy has what humans that think like to call a “plan,” which can be contrasted with what the PINO is saying:
Obama delivered a very different message when he spoke to donors at a fundraiser in New York’s Westchester County. “Yes, the Middle East is challenging, but the truth is it’s been challenging for quite a while,” he said. “I promise you things are much less dangerous now than they were 20 years ago, 25 years ago or 30 years ago. This is not something that is comparable to the challenges we faced during the Cold War.”
Really? Less Dangerous? You promise? Maybe we should ask my husband and the veterans who served in Iraq whether or not they think Iraq is “More Dangerous” or Less Dangerous” now or sometime in the recent past. Or maybe, we could compare and contrast world events and and see if 20 years ago when there was this little thing called “DESERT STORM” going on or maybe 30 years ago when Iran and Iraq were at war with each other whether people might think that was “much less dangerous”
“The world has always been messy,” he said Friday. “In part, we’re just noticing now because of social media and our capacity to see in intimate detail the hardships that people are going through.”
So we wouldn’t have fussed over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine if not for Facebook? Or worried about terrorists taking over much of Syria and Iraq if not for Twitter? This explanation, following Obama’s indiscreet admission Thursday that “we don’t have a strategy yet” for military action against the Islamic State, adds to the impression that Obama is disengaged.
Dana seems a bit apoplectic. I think it might have something to do with the endless rounds of golf, the less than 10 minutes the PINO spent talking about the beheading of an American before rushing the 8 minutes to the golf course. Maybe it is because the PINO spends his time on the flowery lectures from his teleprompter acting like Kevin Bacon in Animal House screaming “all is well!” while the world burns and Americans are executed on camera. Could be the long memory of a place called Benghazi, where those of us with a brain and logical thinking have an idea what really happened and that he may be coming around to.
People have been coming around for a long time to the fact that the PINO is “disengaged” and “disinterested” because he is just that; an empty suit with empty promises and not one leadership bone in his body. All Hat, No Cattle….
I know I keep saying this, but leadership is hard. You get to spend your nights worrying about the things others don’t and using those thoughts to think of this thing called a “plan.” Even the liberals are becoming distraught at the fact that despite every opportunity handed to this guy to lead or ensure a legacy for himself; he just passes. Like it is above him to be presidential. Leadership involves making decisions and sometimes, people aren’t going to be happy with what you decide. If you can’t take the pain of giving offense or are worried about the feelings of others over what needs to be done, then maybe the job isn’t for you.
This is what happens when you let the children run the show in a world filled with monsters. Hiding under the bed and wishing it all away doesn’t make it so. Or riding around in a golf cart, trying to make par. Americans are losing their heads, and Nero has no plan for stopping it and a tee time to make.
A bit unnerving isn’t it Dana?
