The Taliban has really upped their social media game. It doesn’t matter how many jihadis they lost in the 20 year war with coalition forces. They gained in what matters to them. They gained money and materiel, and they are proud of their acquisitions in August of 2021 and are showing them off the ill-gotten gains on Twitter. It may gall Americans to watch the gloating, but that is not the worst of it. The worst of it is the cowardly and irresponsible way our forces left and the destruction we brought home.
We all were livid when Biden’s unconsciously incompetent, perfumed Princes of the Pentagon didn’t flush their ranks when they were apprised of Biden’s irresponsible and cowardly plan to “retrograde” out of Afghanistan. The twenty years war had gone on long enough we were. I prefer at least leading a daylight parade, instead of a lights out, nighttime vamoose. We were also told that the billions of equipment left in Afghanistan was of no use to the Taliban. It too had been retrograded. Except that very shortly after General Chris Donahue retrograded out of Kabul, the Taliban was having a parade with our equipment. It wouldn’t have mattered if donkeys were pulling the tanks down the streets, it was the optics. This is from Townhall:
Twitter users are once again blasting President Biden’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal after new photos show just some of the military equipment the Taliban now possesses.
The pictures show just part of the estimated $7 billion in equipment left behind, which included aircraft, weapons, communications equipment, night vision goggles, body armor, and biometric devices.
The Pentagon has repeatedly downplayed the PR nightmare.
“The $7.12 billion figure cited in the department’s recent report to Congress corresponds to [Afghan National Defense and Security Forces] equipment and not U.S. military equipment used by our forces,” a Defense Department spokesperson said in a statement last year. “Nearly all equipment used by U.S. military forces in Afghanistan was either retrograded or destroyed prior to our withdrawal.”
And, to tweak our noses even further, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (The Afghanistan Official Voice) is using a social media account to gloat.
Masculine engineers from the Abu Dujana brigade of the stiff Al-Badr Corps have already repaired over 300 military vehicles.

Doesn’t that just make you want to punch something really hard? I have a little free consulting advice for the Taliban Public Relations Department: Real masculinity doesn’t brag about masculinity. These 14th century savages have cottoned to 21st century social media since August of 2021. I wonder why?
Someone forgot their plane during the chaotic evacuation. We attempted to find the owner, but no one responded, so our wise engineers repaired it and turned it over to the military. If a country or organization subsequently claims it, they must pay for the repairs & storage. pic.twitter.com/90CnwTd6Sp

This would be humiliating enough, right. But, this isn’t close to the worst part of this. What is unforgiveable. What we must refuse to accept is the callous disregard for the lives of our personnel and allies in Afghanistan. Do you remember the recent testimony of Sgt. Tyler Vargas-Andrews who was part of a sniper team at the Harmid Karzai International Airport?
The U.S. troops who guarded Hamid Karzai International Airport’s Abbey Gate during the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan witnessed nothing short of hell on earth, a wounded Marine told lawmakers on Wednesday.
“People were suffering from extreme malnutrition, dehydration, heat casualties, and infants were dying,” Marine Sgt. Tyler Vargas-Andrews told the House Foreign Affairs Committee. “Afghans [who] were brutalized and tortured by the Taliban flocked to us, pleading for help. Some Afghans turned away from HKIA [Hamid Karzai International Airport] tried to kill themselves on the razor wire in front of us that we used as a deterrent. They thought this was merciful compared to the Taliban torture that they faced.”
And it got worse with the murder of our personnel:
How about Sgt. Nichole Gee? Remember that Angel in Olive Drab?
Marine Sgt. Nicole Gee was a 23-year-old Marine who was stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. She served as a maintenance technician with the Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 242.
In August 2021, Sgt. Gee was one of 13 U.S. service members killed in a suicide… pic.twitter.com/kR8S2rFFcL

Remember how Biden looked at his watch during the Dignified Transfer of Remains when Sgt. Gee and her brothers and sisters came home? I can get wound up over the money and materiel. I can get pretty salty about the fact that those things will be used against up in the future. But, if you want to see ME go jihad, just mention the lives that were ruined and ended or the moral despair of those who served and came home.

One must wonder: With all the arms we left in Afghanistan, coupled with all the arms/ammunition we have supplied to Ukraine, how well are we supplied thereafter to defend ourselves ??
You seem interested in the connection to Ukraine. Did you even notice that the aircraft in the video was designed and built in Ukraine?
After our disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, Biden should have been impeached and removed from office. Fifty years ago, Congress would have thoroughly investigated gotten rid of him. Now Democrats impeach the presidents who are doing a good job, and their news media allies try to cover up for the ones who have been bribed by foreign powers. But we did nothing.
The amazing thing is that our nation is still intact. Even with our leadership under their control, we still have a hope and a prayer of restoration. God help us. We certain need His help. We cannot get ourselves out of this mess.
Highlighting a video of a captured Ukrainian aircraft is an interesting choice. I’m not sure how that relates to the American bugout. I guess it at least points to the fact that most Americans would not even recognize that the aircraft was built in Ukraine. I wonder how the Antonov AN-32B wound up being abandoned in Afghanistan.
