BREAKING – Senate Democrats BLOCK bill that would increase accountability in VA Affairs Department

Shocking, I know.  Democrats acting like, well…Democrats.

From the article:

Sanders, who chairs the Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs, has been one of the most outspoken defenders of the VA against allegations of misconduct. When asked about reports of multiple deaths related to long wait times at the VA healthcare system, Sanders told CNN: “People die every day.”

Let’s just get to the real reason liberals and socialists like Sanders want to stop any accountability in the Veterans Affairs Department.  And it’s not because “people die every day”.  And it’s not because Bernie Sanders is an unmitigated ass who has absolutely no business being the chair of any committee, let alone one that is in charge of Veterans Affairs.

It’s because these progressive liberal communists (and their shills) have long held the VA system up as a shining example of socialized medicine.

Recent events regarding the awesomeness of government run healthcare have provided quite the shining revelations, haven’t they?

Paul Krugman said (and he might be kicking himself right about now):

Under the Clinton administration, however, the V.H.A. was overhauled, and achieved a remarkable combination of rising quality and successful cost control. Multiple surveys have found the V.H.A. providing better care than most Americans receive, even as the agency has held cost increases well below those facing Medicare and private insurers. Furthermore, the V.H.A. has led the way in cost-saving innovation, especially the use of electronic medical records.

Electronic medical records?  Like the secret wait lists and cancelled appointments for Veterans desperate for services, but left to suffer and die?  THOSE electronic records?

And then we have a good quote from ThinkProgress:

“Since undergoing major reforms during the Clinton administration, the fully integrated structure of government doctors and hospitals in the Veterans Health Administration provides veterans with benefits that are the envy of the rest of the health care system. A study by the RAND Corporation found that “VA patients were more likely to receive recommended care” and “received consistently better care across the board, including screening, diagnosis, treatment and follow up.”

Why, it’s just what Obamacare promises.

No wonder there’s some blockage in the Senate.
