Today Donald Trump cancelled all campaign events for the weekend in New Hampshire. He isn’t moving any staff into the state, while He Who Would Be King is returning to his opulent New York residence rather than putting his feet up in some hotel in New Hampshire, like the other candidates.

But there’s a reason: Trump is very concerned about the well-being of voters in New Hampshire. The other candidates don’t care, but he does. And the New Hampshire voters should be very grateful to him.

You see, there’s snow in New Hampshire, and Trump wants to save the voters in the far-northern state from venturing out into the cold white stuff to campaign events. His spokeswoman Scottie Hughes explained his ‘worry’ in an interview with Wolf Blitzer on CNN. You can see the video here.

Jeb Bush ridiculed Trump in this tweet, telling Trump that his 90-year-old mother was out braving the cold.

Bush’s spokesman had a laugh about it with a CNN reporter.

But hold on! Wasn’t this the same Donald Trump who threw out raucous Bernie Sanders supporters from an event last month in Vermont, ordering security to take their coats and throw them out into the cold?

Why yes. Yes it was.

Concerned about the safety of voters, my tuchus. Trump has a weak, disorganized ground game in New Hampshire, which is the same problem which dogged him in Iowa. His hubris has convinced him that his celebrity status will bring him the Republican nomination, all wrapped up neatly for him. So he gives no thought to dumping out on New Hampshire voters.

This cockiness lost him Iowa. He is currently ahead in New Hampshire polls, but time will tell if this feint at concern for snow-accustomed people will turn NH voters to the candidates who are making their way through the snow to meet the state’s everyday people.
