The Marine charged in the subway chokehold death turned himself in to the 5th Precinct in Chinatown Friday morning. Meanwhile the lawyers for the family of the mentally ill man who died gave a press conference that was intended to stoke racial fears and pre-convict the Marine. I was this/close to taking a swing at my television with my custom, personalized Louisville Slugger. Daniel Penny, the Marine, should have been charged with second degree murder, according to the lawyers, instead of second degree manslaughter and everyone on the train was guilty of not helping this mentally ill man, but the man’s family.
