Hillary claims that Benghazi is the reason she should run for President. I think Ambassador Stevens would beg to differ. He had repeatedly asked for more security, and it had been denied. She claims she wasn’t capable of looking at blue-prints to determine where reinforced walls should go. I hardly think that is what the ambassador meant. He was receiving death threats from the encroaching Al Qaeda insurgents, and wanted more security forces to protect him and the compounds he was responsible for. Not walls, Hillary – military personnel.
Months before the 2012 Benghazi attack that killed U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans, the U.S. State Department had at least three detailed intelligence reports warning of al-Qaida’s build-up in Benghazi and quoting a militant leader who vowed to kill the U.S. ambassador, according to a new book chronicling the heroism of Navy SEALs.
Instead, the ambassador’s requests were denied or ignored. He was repeatedly told to just use the Libyan forces for security. The only problem with that was if other Libyans (or perceived Libyan nationals) attack and the Libyan forces defended the ambassador, and harmed in any way one of those insurgents, they can be arrested. They would then be subject to Libyan law, or worse, tribal judges, with no diplomatic immunity. Nor was diplomatic immunity being granted to our forces, which is why there was a severe drawback instead of more security.
Wall Street Journal Op Ed Gregory Hicks
When I arrived in Tripoli on July 31, we had over 30 security personnel, from the State Department and the U.S. military, assigned to protect the diplomatic mission to Libya. All were under the ambassador’s authority. On Sept. 11, we had only nine diplomatic security agents under Chris’s authority to protect our diplomatic personnel in Tripoli and Benghazi.
So, he had 30, asked for more, and was left with 9.
Now Hillary claims that Ambassador Stevens is responsible for his own death. There is no other way to look at what she said.
“Of his own choosing.” This woman must really lack a soul. No doubt she lacks a conscience. No, Hillary. You should not run, unless it is away.
The chapter in her book on Benghazi, so far from what I’ve read in excerpts, is a fairy tale. Asking for a friend here: if I go to the bookstore and want to read that chapter in its entirety, do I go to the fiction section?
Ben Rhodes and Tommy ‘Dude’ Vietor, Obama’s spin doctors, helped conjure up the video story, and Hillary shone while telling it. Al Qaeda was talking to their hierarchy, via State Dept phone, about their progress at Benghazi. And they knew it.
From Fox News:
The terrorists who attacked the U.S. consulate and CIA annex in Benghazi on September 11, 2012 used cell phones, seized from State Department personnel during the attacks, and U.S. spy agencies overheard them contacting more senior terrorist leaders to report on the success of the operation, multiple sources confirmed to Fox News.
I don’t think Benghazi is the reason you should run, Hillary. By the time all the information is out – which means everyone feels it is safe enough to come forward without adverse ramifications, like a friendly neighborhood visit from the IRS – Team Obama and Team Hillary will have so many bus tire tracks the Dems themselves will be flattened.
