And here we go again. While the funding bills to keep the government open have squeaked by in the House of Representatives, Chuck Schumer has decided that funding the Department of Homeland Security will be the hill Democrats will die on.
Once the Senate finally voted for cloture, ending the filibuster, we all knew the end of the shutdown was near.
The government shutdown is not over yet. But it’s getting closer to the end after the Senate has finally gained 60 votes for cloture.
