Supreme Court Hears Transgender Minor Children Case

Today, the Supreme Court (SCOTUS) is hearing oral arguments regarding the Tennessee law that bans doctors from certain procedures for trans kids. Procedures like certain surgeries and prescriptions like cross-sex hormones or puberty blockers. The case, the United States vs. Skrmetti, was brought by the Biden Justice Department against the Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti. One of the lawyers arguing against the law is Chase Strangio of the ACLU, the first Transgender person to argue a case before the Supreme Court.

The Wall Street Journal wrote the case up like this:

Believe it or not, the U.S. government will argue to the Supreme Court on Wednesday that the 14th Amendment means a state cannot ban transgender hormone regimens for adolescents. Perhaps that sentence sounds like jabberwocky, but the feds are serious, and so are the potential implications of U.S. v. Skrmetti.

The law being challenged is from Tennessee, and it prohibits administering medical treatments to minors if the purpose is to enable a gender transition or to address “purported discomfort or distress from a discordance between the minor’s sex and asserted identity.” That prevents doctors from doing surgeries and supplying puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones. Almost half of states have similar rules, according to the government’s filing.

This is a 14th Amendment to The Constitution case or equal protection case. Anyway, that’s why the Biden Justice Department brought the case:

Fourteenth Amendment
Section 1

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

I don’t see how anyone could look at minor children transgenderism from just a legal or Constitutional perspective, but the WSJ article says that’s the way it is:

The evidence for such treatments is disputed in the briefs, but the real question for the Justices is legal. The U.S. solicitor general’s thesis is that the Tennessee law discriminates by sex and transgender status, violating the 14th Amendment’s guarantee of “equal protection of the laws.”

The SCOTUS is going to argue obscure and inane legal points in a case brought by the Biden Justice Department because they don’t believe in democracy or our Republic and never have. To heck with what the people of Tennessee want. In this opening statement, the Justice Department argues that this is a complete ban (14th Amendment) when it is an age band and Justice Thomas Clarence calls her out.

Not only is Chase a TransMan but he will also “Aid and abet abortion” as his T-shirt says. Dear God. Of course, Ketanji Brown Jackson, who can’t define a woman had found this law to be analogous to interracial marriage:

Slate Magazine thinks the “ban” on transgender care is dangerous. This isn’t a ban. This is simply setting an age of consent:

he Supreme Court hears arguments on Wednesday in Skrmetti v. U.S., a case of such immense importance to constitutional equality and with such devastating potential consequences that it’s hard to even describe. First and foremost, Skrmetti asks whether legislation that prohibits gender-affirming care for transgender youth is lawful under the 14th Amendment’s equal protection clause. These bans, now enacted in about half the states, have uprooted families across the country, forcing some to travel hundreds of miles, or move to another state, just to maintain their child’s medical treatment. Like abortion restrictions, they represent an abnormal and alarming intrusion into the practice of medicine based on politicians’ personal beliefs about who should be trusted to make decisions about their own bodies.

“The sky is falling.” is both stupid and no longer a viable political argument. Most Americans have woken up. Currently, 25 states ban underage surgeries and hormones. England has banned puberty blockers and cross sex hormones for minors.

Some day, very soon, we will look back on all this horror. A decision from the Supreme Court is not due until Spring, 2025.

    We need to start killing these freaks when they start grooming kids. And it should be viewed as community service instead of murder.

    Stopping a natural growth process is not healthy and it’s not normal. These children should be left alone until they are adults. Then again, doing that will mean that they won’t be young and cute so the groomers won’t find them desirable any longer.

    Please clarify. When you say “trans-man” and “he/him,” are you talking about a man or a woman?

    I realize this might sound like snark, but I honestly have no idea what the hell you’re talking about when those ambiguities come up.

    If a dude wants to be called by a girl’s name, or if he legally changes his name to a girl’s name, then by all means be polite and call him by that girl’s name. And vice-versa. No issue with that.

    Just don’t call him her or her him. Names can be changed easily; the English language, not so easily.
