Sunday Morning Cafe Cocktails

Mimosa, Bloody Mary, nice flute of champagne — or maybe a favorite tipple in your coffee. Make yourself one and join me at our own Algonquin Round Table, the spirit of Dorothy Parker abides.

Happy Sunday, dear friends! I hope you all had a fabulous 4th of July. Family, food and fireworks. What a great way to celebrate America’s 249th birthday. We should pay no heed to the portside reprobates who took the occasion to bleat about how bad everything is. (Looking at you, Roundheels) They are worse than that cousin who shows up at your wedding, drinks too much, punches the Best Man in the nose, and loudly announces to the guests that his sorry excuse for a life is entirely the fault of his dad. And your cousin smiles during the whole thing because he enjoys chaos more than just about anything.

The Left is pickled in envy. Keep an eye on them, but give them no credit. Pick up your flute, dears, and let’s get to it. Cheers!

Not tired of winning

New jobs report …

The U.S. jobs report released Thursday shattered expectations, with 147,000 new jobs added, well above the Dow Jones forecast from economists that had predicted 110,000 new jobs in June.

“America First policies continue to unleash historic growth and prosperity for our workers,” The U.S. Department of Labor said in a statement.

In another welcome development for the economy, unemployment rate fell to 4.1 percent, after economists had projected an increase to 4.3 percent.

Carry a box of Kleenex with you and hand out tissues to Leftwinger acquaintenances as they cry and try to make this news a negative.

Maybe carry a few business cards of a qualified therapist for them, too.

You don’t hate media enough

… and the best advice is hit back twice has hard …

The Associated Press reported that Gaza Humanitarian Foundation contractors shot and killed Palestinians waiting for aid, citing sources who could not point to a verified instance of such a shooting. (snip)

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) announced Thursday that it launched an investigation into the claims after the AP reported that aid workers have fired “live ammunition” at “hungry Palestinians” at food distribution sites.

“Based on time-stamped video footage and sworn witness statements, we have concluded that the claims in the AP’s story are categorically false,” the GHF said in a statement. “At no point were civilians under fire at a GHF distribution site.” (snip)

The GHF confirmed to the Washington Free Beacon that it would take legal action against the AP but declined to provide further details.

Legacy media has always been more than willing to slurp-up even the most outrageous claims of Hamas and other Islamoterrorist organizations without one iota of questioning. Pallywood is in full-swing and I offer up a toast to GHF’s future success in taking AP down.

Meanwhile in the EU the vibrancy of all that diversity continues

You’d think that one Rotherham would have been enough. But this is the direct result of the Leftwing’s oft expressed conceit that all cultures are equal. No, no they’re not. And incidents like this prove it every day.

Well, they do always take the ’20’ of ’80/20′ issues. There’s that.

Your Sunday smile

I usually try to end on a high note, a story that speaks to the best in us all. I wish to do something a little different. Please, reach out and take the hand of the person next to you and let’s bow our heads and offer up a prayer for the families in Texas affected by the massive flash flood along the Guadalupe River.

Dear Lord, we recall the words of Psalm 34:18 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” and we pray to You now to please lift up all the families and communities touched by the tragedy in Texas. Give them strength and grant them peace in the days and weeks ahead. We come to you with heavy hearts for those families and friends who have been torn apart by this disaster, seeking Your grace and comfort that loved ones now gone are secure in Your comforting embrace. Let their memories be a blessing.

We pray, too, for the rescuers and first responders who need Your strength to guide them and Your angels to keep them. Let them be guided by You with clarity and compassion that they do not waver in their mission.

Heavenly Father, let Your light shine upon them all, guiding them through the darkness.

Amen.

My dear friends, this brings us to the end of our time together today. The rest of Sunday awaits you. Remember to hug your families and tell them you love them. See you next Sunday, dears. L’Chaim!
