Mimosa, Bloody Mary, nice flute of champagne — or maybe a favorite tipple in your coffee. Make yourself one and join me at our own Algonquin Round Table, the spirit of Dorothy Parker abides.
Happy Sunday, dear friends! And happy First Day of Fall! Do please indulge me, among the savory and sweet items of our feast, there are at least a couple pumpkin-flavored offerings. And after this week — from the glorious boomie-booms of the fall of the House Hezbollah to the more profane theater of “Dr.” Jill chairing a Cabinet Meeting — there’s some strong adult beverage choices to be had. Seven weeks until Election Day?!
Drink up, dears. And let’s get to it. Salute!

You mean like setting up a fake "Russia dossier" to be peddled to the media in an attempt to facilitate a coup against the duly elected president? Stuff like that? https://t.co/kCxIqykAYX

This isn’t even some claim to a nuanced position of taking threats of violence serious enough to legally prosecute. This is flat out destroying the Constitution in order to save “Our Democracy™”.

Kamala — you know, the Great Prosecutor whose only client has ever been The People — also can’t stand the Constitution, especially that bit in the 4th amendment about unreasonable searches and rule of law.

Since about 2015, Trump has faced a steady chorus of nay-sayers with over-heated rhetoric. Yet, even now after two assassination attempts, the Left just turns the dial to 11.
Steve Benen, a former blogger for the Washington Monthly and current producer and contributor to “The Rachel Maddow Show,” thinks the Mar-a-Largo would-be assassin was justified in wanting to take a shot at former president Donald Trump.
Or, in Benen’s words, “the alleged would-be shooter.” Benen is complaining that Donald Trump is blaming Democrats for using violent rhetoric that motivated Routh to try to kill the former president.
But Routh is right, claims Benen. Trump indeed, a “threat to democracy.”
Trump believes it's excessive to say he's a threat to democracy, but
– he really has endorsed an authoritarian-style vision
– it's not just Dems who made the accusation against him
– he's repeatedly accused his perceived foes of being threats to democracy https://t.co/LASsDH5RYg— Steve Benen (@stevebenen) September 16, 2024
How dare Trump wear his skirt too short!

Wear a wristband, get banned from your child’s school.
A New Hampshire high school called the cops on several parents who showed up at a girls soccer game wearing wristbands with “XX” on them.
The two Xs, which signify women’s chromosomes, were to protest the participation of a biological male on Bow High School rival Plymouth Regional HS’s team.
The parents didn’t disrupt the game … no shouting, chanting or blocking access. Just wearing pink wristbands. For that the school went nuclear … calling law enforcement to the game and later issuing “no trespass” orders to some of the parents.

The order bans the parents from all school grounds and activities on or off campus while accusing the parent of being “harassing, threatening, and intimidating”.

Thinking outside of the box police car.
In Chicopee, Massachusetts, you may notice a rather unexpected police vehicle making the rounds: an ice cream truck.
The truck was the brainchild of Officer Travis Odiorne of the Chicopee Police Department.
“One of my main goals was to try to bridge the gap between police work, our department and our community,” Odiorne told Fox News Digital in a telephone interview.
This is especially true when reaching the kids. Too many kids only see police due to a crisis in their homes. Seeing and interacting with officers in a positive environment builds trust.
And a high-trust society is a better society.

Yowzer, look at the time! Our time together seems so short. Do go and enjoy the rest of Sunday — if you’re getting the Fall weather, go outside and revel in it. Never be too busy to enjoy a good day our Lord creates. Cheers!

Isn’t New Hampshire the “Live Free or Die” state? My daddy is rolling in his grave!
I wonder if Officer Travis reads “Jump Start” by Robb Armstrong. That comic strip has featured a cop ice cream truck before.

The liberal mindset that has a hatred for people exercising their rights leads me to wonder why they don’t relocate to a friendlier nation and leave normal people alone.
Because they HATE those of us that can think for ourselves, and the want POWER.
That’s why leftists government agencies around the western world, e.g. the UK and Australia, are going after so-called misinformation and threatening people who speak for themselves against the leftist policies/propaganda.
Sad to say, it’s getting close to being time to resort to that third box.. Nov will tell… Was hoping we’d never get to that point, but better while I’m still able to step up than leaving it to my children and grand children…
Sue the district into the ground.
I’d have had the lawsuit filed before I even got pushed out the stadium gate. With the police officer names and badge numbers to be added later.
