The Secret Service are a bunch of knuckleheads. Thankfully, the knucklehead/imbecile in charge, Kimberly Cheatle, showed herself the door after flat-out refusing to abandon her post and flat-out refusing to answer any real questions.
But man, oh man! The latest harebrained suggestion from the Secret Service to the Trump campaign takes the cake. According to this from The Washington Post, the Secret Service is encouraging the Trump campaign to stop outdoor rallies.
Why? Because, clearly, outdoor rallies are more difficult to provide security, according to those who are (currently) in charge over at The Secret Service. Too many variables and things that can go wrong in an outdoor setting, they say. This is a very interesting development when we consider some of the other details that came to light on the July 13th assassination attempt.
Col. Christopher Paris, head of the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), testified yesterday and filled in some blanks:
Thing #1: Crooks was first identified as a “suspicious” person by members of local law enforcement when he failed to enter the secure area ahead of the rally.
Members of Butler’s Emergency Services Unit (ESU), saw him use a range finder, and reached the command center, which was overseen by the Secret Service. This message was relayed to a member of Pennsylvania State Police inside of the command center who, apparently, was given a number to call by the Secret Service.
Thing 2: Eight shots were fired into the rally.
Kimberly Cheatle may not have been able to remember, by Christopher Paris sure did.
Thing 3: Local police officers were left to keep eyes on-and eventually tail-Thomas Matthew Crooks.
That’s right. Secret Service was nowhere to be found. Why? Well, the (sloped) roof that was a clear shot towards Donald Trump’s podium somehow was “outside of the Secret Service’s security perimeter”. Since the Secret Service was of no use whatsoever, the local police officers took it upon themselves to confront Crooks. This caused one officer to fall after being hoisted onto the roof that will go down in infamy. It was during this timespan that Crooks fired his shots.
I would say that again the primary responsibility of making these calls, making these decisions and making the operation plans is going to be the Secret Service.”-Patrick Yoes, national president of the Fraternal Order of Police
The very same Secret Service that now wants the Trump campaign to consider holding future campaign rallies indoors.
A PSP area commander who joined the walk-through on July 11, two days before the rally, reported to Paris that he flagged the rooftop Crooks used as a potential issue. Secret Service agents assured the commander that the area would be covered by Butler’s ESU.”-Eden Tshome, The Hill
And, “covered”, it wasn’t.
The normalization of leftwing political violence happened pretty fast. Now it's just part of nature, like snow in winter. Election night means you board up downtown DC. Weekends are for violent antisemitic riots. Republican presidential nominees shouldn't hold outdoor rallies. pic.twitter.com/nvnn575m3a

The Trump campaign, in the interest of keeping supporters safe, is looking at holding future campaign events at indoor venues; with one event scheduled at a multipurpose arena in Charlotte, NC., and another at a hockey arena in St. Cloud, Minn.
However, a huge part of Trump’s campaign has been his YUGE, outdoor rallies that draw supporters by the thousands. Take the largest rally of the year in Wildwood, New Jersey a few months back:
There were about 100,000 people in attendance at that particular rally. These large rallies have been a staple in the Trump campaign and have blown all events hosted by the Democrats out of the water. Now that the “baton” or the “ice cream cone” has been passed to Kamala, we are seeing news outlets reporting on the “crowds” at the first “Kamala Harris” rally. A “record showing” of 3,000, as a matter of fact. The fix is in with the news media to paint Kamala Harris as a popular candidate. Just as popular as Donald Trump, in fact. Look at all of those people coming to see Kamala!! By making a big, to-do about attendance at Harris campaign events, and limiting the number of attendance at Trump events, perhaps the masses could be convinced that Kamala Harris is a formidable opponent of Trump.
All of this theater is laughable but, let’s go back to the Secret Service for a moment. They are the ones encouraging the Trump campaign hold their rallies indoors. They are the ones with some colossal cojones, in my opinion, to even make this ask considering they failed at doing their job.
Either they are incredibly tone-deaf and lazy or a combination of both. Or this a warning, of sorts, to the Trump campaign. A “contain your crowds or we cannot protect you” sort of thing?
Honestly, the Secret Service embodies the Democrat work ethic in a nutshell. Give other people the job you don’t want to do. And when the job is not completed or someone drops the ball, blame those people. And, when you cannot come to terms with and truthfully admit your sheer ineptitude and laziness, ask others who may depend on you for your service to make adjustments for your shortcomings. If they don’t make these adjustments, blame them for your failures on the follow-through.
This is not a good look for the Secret Service. Here’s a novel suggestion for the Secret Service: pull your heads out of your posteriors and do your jobs.

DEI at it’s best..
Trump campaign to Secret Service “You’re on my watchlist and no-fly list.”

What he needs to do is state that his supporters will provide security at outdoor events. Trust me when I say there are lots of ex-military who will gladly lend their arms and expertise to the guy. (It would be a great pro-2A stance, too.)
And don’t think that at least one person involved in the Butler Fiasco wasn’t thinking in terms of “At least it will shut down his campaigning.” Then Trump had to go and make that heroic fist and it blew that away (until now).
Does this sound familiar? When King David wanted to eliminate Bathsheba’s husband, Uriah, he had his general Joab implement an unfortunate “death on the battle field” scenario.
2 Samuel 11: 14 The next morning David wrote a letter to Joab and sent it with Uriah. 15 He wrote in the letter, “Place Uriah at the front of the fiercest battle, and then pull back from him so that he will be struck down and die.” 16 So as Joab was attacking the city, he put Uriah in the place where he knew there were strong warriors. 17 When the city’s soldiers came out and attacked Joab, some of the people from David’s army fell. Uriah the Hittite was also killed.
